This Sunday (August 7) at 4:00 p.m. the Chips Chocolate and Chat Gathering will be held in the Swartz Education Center, 274 S. Bryn Mawr Ave., on the JCHAI campus in Bryn Mawr.

Chips, Chocolate and Chat is a group of adults on the autism spectrum (ages 18+), who with the help of a facilitator, discuss topics chosen by the group. Topics that have been addressed include dating, co-workers, break-ups, meet-ups, interviewing for jobs, etc.

Parents/caregivers meet in a separate room to discuss various issues and provide support to one another.

Reminder: Participants must be vaccinated, and masks are still required inside buildings on the JCHAI campus.

ACEing Autism Tennis Program Offered at Idle Hour Tennis Club in Drexel Hill

Tomorrow, Saturday, May 21, the ACEing Autism program will hold its first session from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on the back hard courts. This program is for ages 6-16.

Aceing Autism is a program that helps to develop socialization skills and builds self-esteem using the medium of tennis using
Participants are introduced to interactive fun activities alone and in groups revolving around tennis and ball skills at a basic level or above, but in all cases customized individually to the participant’s skill level, and in a safe, supportive non threatening and unpressured environment. The emphasis is on fun.

Equipment is provided. There’s some group games as well. Parents and siblings can stay and watch and see the progress from week to week.
