The Medford Township Council unanimously passed a trio of resolutions at its July 7 meeting officially designating D.R. Horton as the redeveloper of three residential complexes that taken together will include enough affordable housing units to meet the township’s fourth-round state requirement, along with another resolution naming the firm as redeveloper of the site of a popular local airport/resort complex, which it now plans to replace with a housing development that will enable the municipality to meet a previous court-ordered affordable housing obligation.

The latter facility, the Flying W Airport and Resort property located off Fostertown Road in Medford and extending into adjacent Lumberton Township, which has up to now offered operators of private aircraft, including helicopters, as well as local residents motel accommodations, a restaurant/lounge, swimming pool, restroom facilities, and regular entertainment, was previously approved for residential development back in 2021, but such a change has since remained on hold.
