This week our team visited Powertrain Solutions and presented a substantial reimbursement check for $10,500 as part of our Rogue Business Elevate program. These Elevate funds supported three on-the-job trainings which led to several internal promotions. Pictured here is an employee who was promoted from a Sales Account Manager to a Marketing Manager!

We are thrilled to announce Chris' success with WorkSource Rogue Valley!

Struggling to find employment and supplementing his income by cutting firewood, Chris wanted a more sustainable career for himself. After connecting with WorkSource Rogue Valley, Chris was able to access funding from the Dislocated Worker Quest grant and enroll in Aisling Truck Academy, where he is actively working to obtain his CDL. Someday he hopes to become an owner-operator. Many congratulations to Chris!

Last week, over 50 Southern Oregon construction leaders, educators and regional stakeholders joined Rogue Workforce Partnership for the BUILD Rogue Valley Luncheon.

We had three goals: to celebrate the impact of the BUILD grant, which puts students on real construction sites and helps them earn career certifications; to educate on what the housing crisis means for our region; and to unite the partners with a stake in Southern Oregon’s construction industry to create a more unified workforce.

Attendees had the chance to connect with industry partners as well as hear from the Governor's office, Rogue Community College, and one of the students who participated in the BUILD Rogue Valley construction training program.

Southern Oregon needs more housing. Housing needs more skilled hands. Days like this are how we get there. Many thanks to all who attended for keeping our work industry-led.

This project is partially funded in partnership with Southwestern Oregon Workforce Investment Board (SOWIB) using Governor’s Statewide Activities grant funds from the U.S. Department of Labor in support of the Building Up Infrastructure, Labor, and Development (BUILD) Project across Coos, Curry, Douglas, Jackson, and Josephine counties.

Join us in celebrating the success of Tessa, who was served through WorkSource Rogue Valley back in 2021!

Most of the stories of program success we are able to share are more recent, showing a new credential or first job after unemployment. Tessa gave us the opportunity to see what kinds of long-term effects our programs can have. In 2021, she was working to rebuild her career in the wake of the pandemic. Today, she is a director of her organization. Thank you Tessa, and thank you to WorkSource Rogue Valley for helping us make a real impact in Southern Oregon!

Reanna always wanted to be the paramedic driving in the ambulance. With aid from the WIOA Adult fund, she gained the proper certifications and now works as a CNA... One step closer to that ambulance! Congratulations, Reanna.

We are thrilled to celebrate Edward's success with WorkSource Rogue Valley!

Edward wanted a CDL but wasn't sure where to look or how to afford it. With funding from the WIOA Adult Fund, he enrolled in Aisling Tuck Academy and received his CDL, which he now uses to haul heavy road-building equipment into the mountains. Congratulations, Edward!
