Join us in celebrating Jennifer's success with WorkSource Rogue Valley!

Jennifer found it difficult to find jobs in her area matching her previous experience. With funding from the Dislocated Worker Quest grant, she was enrolled and earned her CNA and Medical Assistant certifications, earning her a new career in a field she is excited to explore. Great visit with the students of the BUILD Rogue Valley construction training program, Administered through Rogue Community College with instruction by Doug Walker, at the site of the new Veteran's Village in Grants Pass!

We got to see some of the work the students were doing as a part of this program, building raised garden beds for residents of low-income senior housing. The students also got to tour the buildings in-progress of the Veteran's Village to see firsthand what a full-scale construction project entails.

Thank you to Doug Walker, Rogue Community College, and all the partners who are helping to build up the construction workforce in Southern Oregon!

We visited the Gladiola High School Construction Training Program and got the chance to hear from two students gaining hands-on construction skills and a real head start on careers in the trades.

The program, led by Doug Walker, gives students practical, real-world training. Southern Oregon Youth Works was proud to support this program, offering students a paid opportunity to earn while they learn.

We love to support programs like this that are opening doors for youth in Southern Oregon.
