Panthers - our first choir concert of the year is Thursday! We hope you'll join us!

South Medford Choir is not deterred by a few dark clouds! Come and get your car washed today at Habitat for Humanity. And bring those cans and bottles taking up space in your garage!! We are here until 2:00.😁😎

Congratulations to these wonderful graduates. They sang their final National Anthem together at tonight's Graduation ceremony, and it was superb!

If you are interested in supporting South Medford High School's Chamber Choir, we will be competing in choral districts tomorrow at Central Medford high school. We will be performing at 8:00am in Central's auditorium as well as hosting the entire event. Nineteen choirs from all over Oregon will be competing and we welcome you to come watch their highly anticipated performances. It is free to the public and performances will be occurring all day, starting at 8am and concluding around 3pm. We hope to see you there and we wish all choirs the best of luck.

Dear Choir Families,

Our students have been working very hard to prepare for our upcoming Choir Concert and District Festival. We are so proud of them!

Here is the schedule for the following two weeks when we return from school. Please make sure that these very important events are on the calendar. They are all curriculum-related and considered the “Summative Assessments” for our choir program.

Tuesday, April 2nd: Dress Rehearsal for choir concert, 4:00-6:00 at Central Medford HS
3:50pm Bus leaves for Central
4:00-5:30 Rehearsal for all choirs
5:45 Bus returns to South—parents, please pick up your students by the choir room, in the front parking lot
5:30-6:00 Rehearsal for Chamber Choir only

Wednesday, April 3rd: Choir Concert, 7:00 pm at Central Medford HS
6:30pm Call time for performers- students arrive dressed in concert attire
7:00pm Concert---free to the public, with donations gladly accepted
8:30pm Concert completed

Wednesday, April 10th: District Festival at Central Medford HS
7:30am CHAMBER CHOIR loads bus for Central
8:00-9:20 Chamber Choir performs and sight-reads
9:20-12:30 Students listen and participate in the festival. (Students are responsible to bring a lunch or eat in the CMHS Cafeteria.)
12:45pm Chamber Choir returns to SMHS

2:00 CONCERT CHOIR and MEN’S ENSEMBLE loads bus for Central
2:00-4:00 Students listen and participate in the festival
4:00-5:30 Concert Choir and ME performs and sight-reads
5:45pm Concert Choir and ME returns to SMHS- parents, please pick up your students by the choir room in the front parking lot.

A reminder about eligibility: Students must be academically eligible to participate in the District Choir Festival on April 10. Eligibility requirements include: passing 10 classes in the 2nd and 3rd quarter and following school attendance policy.

Effects of music while studying

The SMHS Choir Cabaret, tomorrow at 4 and 7, is going to be so wonderful. "A Night On the Islands" will warm you up on a chilly day. Desserts will be delicious, and so will the musical performances! $12 gets you floor seating and desserts, $7 balcony seating, and $5 for students. Tix available at the door.

Now that our holiday festivities have come to a close and the New Year has begun, it's time to start it off with a bang!!! We hope you will come to see our annual Choir Cabaret this Saturday at 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre. Floor seating goes for $12 with a dessert buffet included, and balcony tickets are $7. We are excited to see you at our Night on the Island themed evening. Aloha! 😉🌺
