So embarrassing because it’s so true! As a host mom for adults from around the world here in Greater Boston and as an English (EFL) conversation teacher for adults currently living anywhere in the USA, I have repeatedly heard shock, surprise, horror, disbelief and confusion over the pathetic level of education in the United States when students come to study at our universities. Don’t even get me started on what I hear when they are first assigned group projects in their classes 😞😲😒🥺🤯🫣😕

Better yet, do you record yourself giving a summary of the article in spoken English?

This is what I wish for all of you --- a group where you can forget your fears, worries, inferiority complexes, perfectionism and stress about how you might sound while speaking conversational American-English.

This free group is a chance to talk in a class setting on Zoom. One person speaks at a time and we all help to make grammar and pronunciation corrections, without judgement. As each person speaks and accepts offered corrections, others learn too because many English students make the same mistakes.

I will facilitate the conversation, but all of you will do most of the work of filling the conversation! This is not a lecture-style class. Also, I do not want to hear about where you are from, why you are studying English, the members of your family or what you do for work...these are Level 1 conversations that most of you have rehearsed for a long time. Instead, we will talk about life in the USA, in-depth details about your hobbies, the definition/description of current hot topics in the USA and stories from your personal lives.

Our meeting is quite short so please join on time. All videos must be turned on. Have the ability to take notes (paper or electronic) because there will be much to learn in this fast moving and energizing class.
