Tufts Financial Group Recognized among the nation's premier student investment groups.

Founded in 2005, Tufts Financial Group (TFG) was established to help students learn successful investing techniques, build networks in finance, and provide practical knowledge to the Tufts community about the financial industry. To this end, Tufts Financial Group also serves as a resource to students on campus by hosting a number of educational and career related events throughout the academic year. The primary endeavor of Tufts Financial Group is the Tufts Alpha Fund: an entirely undergraduate student-run investment portfolio established in 2007, with approximately $215,000 in AUM. Through management of the Fund, Tufts Financial Group provides invaluable hands-on investment experience to undergraduate students of all disciplines and levels of financial expertise. Members initially join as analysts within one of our small industry sectors, working under the guidance of a Lead Analyst. The main focus of these groups is to learn how to conduct research on companies and ultimately present stock pitches to the group. In these groups, students learn to apply the tools learned within their own discipline to the world of investment and finance.

On Wednesday September 16, Tufts alumni Lisa Toyama Jarboe (J’93) will be on campus for an information session from 12:30–1:30pm in JCC -Lantern Room (Room 601). Lisa is a Director and Custom Lending Executive with Bank of America Private Bank.
Lisa specializes in delivering sophisticated credit solutions for high-net-worth clients, overseeing the origination, structuring, underwriting, negotiation, approval, and portfolio management of complex lending transactions. Her credit expertise spans commercial real estate, business lending, securities-based lending, hedge fund lending, as well as specialty assets. Register to the event through Handshake!

Mentors have experience in Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, Equity Research, Asset Management, Wealth Management, Private Markets, and Real Estate. Please apply to join a team of graduate-level students in the Fletcher School as they compete in Wharton and ICM’s MIINT competition. Selected candidates will be expected to dedicate 2-4 hours per week in support of the team’s seed stage investment thesis and pitch the company to representatives at Wharton on April 14th. 

The finals in-person competition features expert judges, workshops on emerging topics, and meaningful networking with peers and professionals across the field.

Applications to join the Fletcher team are due at 11:59 pm on Feb. 25. Selected candidates may be asked for an additional interview. For more information and to apply, please see the link below.
