🎉 The first day of school is TOMORROW! 🎉

We loved seeing so many of our Kennedy families at Open House last week, and now we’re ready to officially kick off the new school year! ❤️🤍💙

The first day of school for grades 1–5 is Monday, August 31, and we can’t wait to welcome our Patriots back!

Here are a few reminders for tomorrow:

❤️ Campus opens at 7:30 AM – students may head to the cafeteria for breakfast or walk the track.
💙 First bell rings at 7:50 AM and the tardy bell rings at 7:55 AM.
❤️ School dismisses at 2:35 PM.
💙 Wednesdays are early release with dismissal at 1:00 PM.

🚸 A quick drop-off reminder for families:
Families are welcome to walk students onto campus on the first day of school. Beginning on the second day, parents/guardians who would like to enter through the gates during drop-off will need to sign in at the office. This begins September 1 for grades 1–5 and September 9 for Kindergarten.

After the first week of school, we kindly ask families to say their morning goodbyes at the gates unless arrangements have been approved by the principal. Thank you for helping us support smooth morning routines and a successful start to the school day! ❤️

🌟 Welcome to Kindergarten! 🌟

We are so excited to begin this school year with our newest Patriots! To help your child feel comfortable and confident, we’ll kick things off with our Kindergarten Soft Start that includes a Teacher Meet & Greet and a student-only half day.

👋 Teacher Meet & Greet (Choose ONE time to attend with your child)

This is a chance for your kindergartner to meet our teachers, explore the classroom, and start building excitement for the year ahead!

🎒 Kindergarten Soft Start (Students only)

Your child will come for a shorter “practice day” to get to know routines in a smaller group setting before the first full day of school.

Thursday, Sept. 3 | 9:00–11:00 AM (Last names A–L)

Thursday, Sept. 3 | 12:00–2:00 PM (Last names M–Z)

This gradual start helps students feel comfortable, eases those first-day jitters, and gives them the chance to begin building friendships right away.

Our Kindergarten teachers will connect with all Kindergarten families by the morning of Monday, August 31st to share all the important details and answer any questions you may have.

We are SO excited to welcome our Patriots and families back to Kennedy! ❤️🤍💙

Join us on Thursday, August 27 for our 1st–5th Grade Open House! Come meet your teacher, visit your classroom, and get ready for an amazing year ahead! 🎉

To help make the evening run smoothly, families will attend according to their student’s LAST NAME:

🔹 A–E: 5:00–5:25 PM
🔹 F–L: 5:30–5:55 PM
🔹 M–R: 6:00–6:25 PM
🔹 S–Z: 6:30–6:55 PM

🌟 Please note: Open House is for students in grades 1–5 only. Our newest Patriots in Kindergarten will have their own special Soft Start schedule.

🏫 Need help before Open House?
The Kennedy office opens to the public on August 19 and will be available 8:00 AM–3:30 PM. Give us a call at 541-842-3810 with any questions.

Huge congratulations to our incredible Teaching and Learning Facilitator, Sarah Mould, on being recognized as an MSD Motivator!

Sarah is the kind of person who makes everyone around her better. Her support, encouragement, knowledge, and heart for both staff and students never go unnoticed. She leads with positivity and a true passion for helping others. We are so lucky to work alongside her every day. This recognition is well deserved.

Today we’re celebrating two of the people who truly keep everything running behind the scenes—Bev Read and Ana Valdovinos.
They are the steady, dependable force that keeps our office moving and our school functioning day in and day out. From the big things to the small details, they handle it all with care, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to our students, staff, and families.
