Gentle Dragon Preschool We are a parent cooperative preschool for children ages 2 years 9 months to 5 years.

Our families and teacher work together to offer a warm, engaging, and play-based environment for our classroom of 13 children. Our mission is to provide a cooperative preschool community that fosters respect for self, curiosity and love of learning, and ensures that school is a place to feel safe and feel valued. We believe that socio-emotional and cognitive growth are fostered in a safe environment that includes making choices and negotiating social situations. We are committed to providing a balance between free play and structured activities. A variety of activities are available every day, including playdough, sand, art materials, puzzles and games, blocks, painting, climbing, and dramatic play opportunities. The curriculum is based on a routine of playing, exploring materials, making friends and understanding one's place in the community of children, parents and teacher.

🎉 We have some exciting news: Gentle Dragon has a new home! 🏡🌿

Our new classroom is located inside Hillside Community Church in Medford, just a 5-minute drive from our previous location at WMCC. Our beautiful garden-level space has lots of natural light, a full kitchen, and a private fenced-in yard for our preschoolers to enjoy! 🌱

We’re also just a short walk from a fenced-in playground with a splash pad. ☀️💦

We’re so excited to begin a new school year at Hillside and can’t wait to welcome families into our new space! More information about our fall open house coming soon.

What a magical Spring Fling today! 🌸🎶✨

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us, danced along to the live music, made crafts, played games, got their faces painted, and helped make the morning feel so full of joy and community 💛

Seeing the children laughing, moving their bodies to the music, waving scarves in the air, and freely being themselves was such a beautiful reflection of the Gentle Dragon spirit. This is what makes our cooperative preschool so special — families, teachers, and children all creating a warm, playful, and connected community together.

Thank you as well for all of the generous donations and support for our school and community center. And congratulations to all of our raffle ticket winners!! 🎟️✨

Gentle Dragon is accepting applications for the 2026 / 2027 school year. If you want to be an active part of your child’s preschool experience and you value play, please call us at (781) 391-2301 to set up a private tour. Children must be 2 years 9 months old by September 1st to enroll.

Today we had a very special visitor at Gentle Dragon Preschool - a dental hygienist came to talk with the children about teeth care! 🦷🪥

She was absolutely FANTASTIC with the children!! She made everything fun, engaging, and easy to understand, and the kids were so excited to participate and practice their brushing skills.

A big thank you to Jess, our wonderful special event master, for helping organize this visit. We truly appreciate your support in bringing enriching experiences like this into our classroom!

It was such a meaningful (and fun!) learning day for everyone 💛🐉
