Much like my Byzantine course last fall, I also did up a poem for the final exam for History 53--Europe to 1815 that touched on the topics we had dealt with in the last third of the course including Louis XIV, the Englightened Despots, the French Revolution, the ideas of the natural rights of man, and Napoleon. Here is that poem with my imperfect cadence and wording at points put to music again with the aid of Suno. Just for a little fun.

At the end of last semester, just for fun, I wrote a little poem for each of my fall classes to put as a closing thought on the final exams for each class. For the Byzantine class, it was a poem called "Those Who Guard the Light" about the last hours of Constantinople before its fall in 1453. I started to think it would be fun to put it to music, so I found an app called Suno, and below are the results. Just kind of for fun, does not sound like professional musicians or anything and I am not wordsmith, but, it was a bit of entertainment!

Dana Chang foundation lecture

Dear supporters and friends,

We are excited to introduce a new lecture series supported by the Dana Chang Foundation, in collaboration with Boston Children’s Hospital.

The inaugural lecture will take place on January 28 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Folkman Auditorium at Boston Children’s Hospital. We would be delighted if you could join us in person to connect, learn, and honor Dana’s memory. Validated hospital parking is available at the 2 Blackfan Street Patient and Family Garage.

This lecture is held in honor of Dana Chang and will focus on her medical condition, along with current evaluation and management strategies. It also marks the launch of the Dana Chang Foundation’s awareness and education initiative, aimed at informing pediatricians and the public about congenital coronary anomalies.

For those unable to attend in person, the lecture will be available via Zoom and recorded for later viewing.

About the Speaker:

We are honored to welcome Dr. Julie Brothers from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She will present:

“Anomalous Aortic Origin of a Coronary Artery (AAOCA): Evaluation and Management in the Current Era.”

Dr. Brothers is the Medical Director of the Coronary Anomaly Management Program at CHOP, a key contributor to the multi-institutional AAOCA Registry, and the lead author of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery Expert Consensus Guidelines on AAOCA management.

We hope you can join us in person or online. Your participation helps honor Dana and advance awareness of congenital coronary anomalies.
