High School Students Do Better In Science, Math And English If They Also Take Music Lessons A new study shows that students who take music lessons in high school perform better in science, math and English.

38 summer music lesson scholarship offers went out this morning. Once again, we are thankful to be able to offer a scholarship to everyone that applied. We wouldn't be able to do this without the generous support and cooperation of the New Jersey School of Music.

South Jersey Music Education Partnership is once again offering scholarships to beginner instrumentalists to take small group music lessons all summer long at the NJ School of Music in Medford. Over the past 5 years we have awarded over 240 scholarships and have never had to turn anyone away. If your child is interested in being in the school band, this is a great place to get a head start. To apply for the scholarship visit www.sjmep.org and apply by Friday, June 9th.

We were pleased to see all the SJMEP summer music scholarship recipients performing at the end of the summer recital. They all sounded great and are well prepared to start playing in their school bands this week. If you have a 4th through 8th grader looking to learn flute we have a few slots open in our 7 PM thursday evening beginner class. Class starts next week, message if you are interested. Did I mention the lessons are free?
I am pleased to report that were able to award a scholarship to every beginner instrumentalist that applied for our summer music scholarship program to study music at the NJ School of Music this summer. If you missed the official application deadline and would still like to lessons please respond here before June 26th (the start of lessons) and we will see what we can do to get you in a class.
