Today is the final chance for students to submit an ED1 application and we're wrapping up Tufts Talk: ED Edition! ππ£οΈ
Our final feature is Afua β26 from New York, NY:
βComing from New York City ποΈ, I wanted a school in a calmer setting that was still close to a major city. Tufts offers a close-knit campus community with Boston nearby, full of opportunities. As a clinical psychology major π§ π₯Ό, I was drawn to the wide range of courses in the department, from engineering psychology to biopsychology, which allow students to explore different paths within the field. I also wanted a school that values intersectionality and supports students from all backgrounds, which Iβve found through spaces such as the Africana Center () and the Womenβs Center (). Tuftsβ strong commitment to civic engagement π£ and its welcoming environment π€ through student programming have helped me think more about the kind of impact I want to make, both in my field and beyond.β

Next up is Sophie β26 from Bethesda, MD:
"I knew Tufts was right for me when I toured campus. Everyone I saw had a smile on their face and offered a friendly wave ππ. I immediately felt like I would belong here. Everyone at Tufts seemed extremely eager about what they do and what π activities they wanted to try. Growing up near DC, I was especially drawn to Tufts' strong commitment to civic engagement βοΈπ£ . After three years here, I have been able to utilize the Tisch College for Civic Life (). Iβve attended incredible speaker events, joined Get Out the Vote efforts π, and connected with passionate classmates and faculty. I have enjoyed the hands-on experience of interacting with the local community and beyond, engaging meaningfully in social, political, and democratic issues. Academically and socially, the community here is truly special π. Everyone loves to learn π and is happy to be at Tufts, making meaningful connections and friendships."

Next up is Julia β28 from Braintree, MA:
"When I first toured Tufts during my junior year of high school, my tour guide said that sheβs only ever met friendly people at Tufts, which really stuck with me, as that was the exact community that I wanted to be around. Throughout my experience at Tufts so far, Iβve met so many students who support each other π€π«, whether itβs in class, clubs, or everyday life, and being in this collaborative environment has helped inspire me to try new things and step out of my comfort zone π£. Tufts has given me the space to explore every side of myself, discovering new interests in unexpected classes while also having resources to find professional opportunities that help me achieve my career goals. For me, Tufts feels like a place that not only supports me now but also pushes me to keep learning and broadening my horizons π

Thinking about applying Early Decision? π€ Welcome back to Tufts Talk: ED Edition! ππ£οΈ
Next up is Skye β26 from Fairbanks, Alaska:
βI am a biopsychology major π¬π§ with a minor in Spanish! I applied Early Decision to Tufts because of the smaller liberal arts college feel, but in a super central location near a city! Boston is very accessible from Tufts, and coming from far away, I wanted to be able to travel to school as easily as possible βοΈπ€οΈ. I also loved the vibe on campus; everyone is very involved and loves everything that they do π.β

βI applied Early Decision to Tufts because I was immediately drawn to the sense of community on campus and wanted to join the collaborative environment of passionate peers π€. Also, I appreciated the interdisciplinary nature of Tufts' education that creates a space for students to take a deep dive into topics they love π and fuel their curiosities β½β, while also remaining dedicated to serving the surrounding greater Boston communities and using their learning as springboards for innovation. Overall, Tufts was the perfect mix of opportunities for educational π and personal growth πͺ΄ among supportive students and faculty!β

Next up is Helina '28 from Dallas, TX:
"I am majoring in International Relations and French! I applied Early Decision to Tufts because the moment I stepped on campus, I felt at home π . Medford, MA and Dallas, TX may not have much in common on paper, but being part of the Tufts community has allowed me to thrive. What first drew me in was the perfect balance: a classic college campus with easy access to a major city like Boston, combined with strong programs in the field I hoped to study. I was fortunate to know early on that I wanted to pursue International Relations ππ, and Tufts has not only reaffirmed that decision but also expanded the ways I think about and engage with the field. Beyond academics, Tuftsβ vibrant student life and spirited traditions make it a place Iβm proud to call home π.β

Next up is Soph '27 from Hilton Head, SC :
βIβm a third-year Combined Degree student, studying Human Factors Psychology π§ and Studio Art π¨. When I first visited Tufts, what stood out wasnβt just the academics, but the communityβstudents spoke with genuine excitement about their work, and the culture felt collaborative rather than competitive. The Combined Degree program offered the perfect balance βοΈ: close-knit, yet full of support and opportunity.
Being able to study cognitive psychology and ergonomics on the Medford campus, then head to SMFA to build furniture πͺποΈ and functional pieces in the woodshop πͺπͺ΅ is exactly why I applied ED. Tufts lets me explore my interests without restrictions, in a community that is both inspiring and kind.β

Next up is Alexander '26 from Fresno, CA:
βI wanted to go to a school that prioritizes community and building long-lasting relationships. I chose to rank Tufts on my QuestBridge application because it seemed to foster genuine bonds among students from historically marginalized groups. After seeing how the DSDI centers encourage and ground students, I know I made the right decision. I donβt think I truly understood what community was until I came to Tufts. More than that, Tufts has helped me grow into someone who not only values community but also knows how to create it for others."

Thinking about applying Early Decision? π€ Welcome back to Tufts Talk: ED Edition! ππ£οΈ
Next up is Aliana '28 from New Delhi, India:
"When I was deciding where to apply, the word 'community' came up again and again, and Tufts felt like the place where that word truly meant something. Tuftsβ description of its students as kind, curious, and collaborative really stuck with me. I saw that in how people celebrated each otherβs successes, asked big questions without fear, and built ideas together. Some of my strongest connections have come from small moments like a spontaneous hike with the Tufts Mountain Club or nervously walking into a club meeting alone and leaving with new friends. I also applied ED because I was drawn to Tuftsβ strong research opportunities, where undergraduates are encouraged to explore ideas and contribute meaningfully from day one. What Iβve realized is that community at Tufts isnβt one single thing; itβs built from many different experiences that overlap and grow over time. Choosing ED meant choosing a place where I could belong, explore, dive into research, and create my own version of community."

Next up is Ishan '27 from Randolph, MA:
βI applied Early Decision to Tufts because I was drawn to the strong sense of community and collaboration on campus. I didnβt want a hyper-competitive environmentβI wanted a place where students uplift and learn from each other, and Tufts felt exactly like that. The liberal arts education was also a major factor. It gave me the flexibility to explore both my passion for languages and my interest in business. Finally, the location was a perfect fit. Tufts has a true campus atmosphere while still being just a short trip from Boston, offering the best of both worlds.β
