April Recap 🎉
Hey everyone! We got the ball rolling again this month with dual enrollment, homework help, tutoring, and Saturday programming as usual 📚
We also had the chance to go on three amazing trips:
✈️ Bergen Community College – toured the campus and experienced aviation flight simulators
🎮 Gotta Go Gaming – learned the history and impact of gaming, then got hands-on with the experience
🏫 Kean University – wrapped it up with an awesome campus tour

Happy Birthday to our lovely counselor Shahod!! 🥳🎊🎉🎈

Over the past few months Shahod has helped bring energy, rhythm and more excitement to our program. We appreciate Shahod for engaging the way he does with our students whether it is at a school visit, on Saturdays mornings, or even after school during the week. Shahod is always a listening ear to everyone around him and aims to make people feel welcomed, celebrated, and heard.

We appreciate everything you do for the program Shahod!!

Our GEAR UP scholars had an amazing time at Bergen Community College! We were able to visit their incredible aviation center and our students were able to use their airplane simulators.

After that, we had an amazing tour of the campus. Our students were able to ask their questions, visit different offices, and network with BCC staff members. We truly had an amazing time! 💜🧡

Our March 2026 Recap! 🎉❄️🤗
The GEAR UP team had an amazing March! We continued providing homework help, supporting dual enrollment, conducting in-school visits, and hosting our Saturday programming sessions.

As mentioned last month, we also continued our community service efforts. We recognized our high school Student of the Month scholars and our middle school Student of the Month scholars. We hosted a Women’s Brunch, attended a Women’s Conference, and during our Saturday programming, we had an amazing guest speaker.

We’re excited for the month of April and all the opportunities ahead! Scholars can look forward to more school visits, college tours, engaging programs, field trips, Student of the Month recognitions, and much more. Get ready for another great month! 😁🔰
