Mentoring clinicians on strength training basics so they can strengthen their patients and business

$100k in client revenue

Pretty cool to watch this number accumulate over the last year.

What’s even cooler is that it’s only spread across 8 clients in 9 months.

And the coolest part is that I did it all while being a full time stay at home dad for my daughter

Remote is a powerful tool when applied in the right way.

Shoutout to those cool cash based PTs that let me help them make this revenue. You the real MVPs.

🌲AMONG THE TREES🌲

Another great trip to wrap up the camping season.

Glacier never disappoints.

🏔️ BANFF 🏔️

So nice to take a week with my family to Canada.

Had some poutine, saw some animals, hiked a lot.

Also, Tim Hortons is not good. Just sayin.

Not sure we will make it back to Canada anytime soon, but glad we’ve been able to get there a handful of times over the last couple years.

In New Jersey for the week!

My sister is getting married so we decided to take a week and go be with everyone.

We really don’t get to be with our extended families very often at all being all the at out in Montana.

Being able to drop the daily routine and head wherever really has been so great.

While the same 1-2 hours of work a day still follows me wherever, being able to do that wherever I have my laptop in the world means it’s a no brainer trade off wise.

My most recent new client said it’d been a year since she took more than a day off at her cash practice.

And even then, she was so nervous about the impact missing 3 days of seeing patients would do to her revenue.

It’s exciting knowing that once we land on an offer unique to her practice and start pitching it to her patients, she will start generating business fueling monthly recurring revenue.

If you had a few thousand dollars of monthly recurring revenue coming, knowing you didn’t have to be in person to make it, would you go on vacation?

What would you do?

“A 2 week vacation is a huge milestone”

I heard this today when chatting with a cash practice owner, and it’s true!

Being able to take time for myself to be with my family without a full stop to my business is a great feeling.

The reason many open their own business is to find freedom:
- financial freedom
- offer freedom
- time freedom

But plenty of business owners, cash practice owners especially, run the risk of getting bogged down

They build a practice around them that is GREAT for their patients

- Hour long 1 on 1 visits
- The hottest recovery implements
- Being available when other practices are not
- Bending over backwards for their patients

But what’s great for their patients inevitably takes them away from their time, family and non business life

The good news is there is a course correct where everyone can win

Shifting your model from only in person to hybrid will only benefit you and your patients

They get more and better care and outcomes than just being in person

And you get all of the benefits you started your own practice for

Being able to soak up every minute of the last 6 months of my daughter being here is invaluable, and I want that for you too

The team is back in San Antonio!

Hanging for a couple weeks here to avoid the -20 degrees back home in Montana.

The upside?

Diverse food, warm weather, no lapse in family time with necessary travel, no lapse in work progress because

The downside?

Being stuck in a hotel room with a 6 month old and being unwilling to let them crawl on the floor

Back home to Montana soon 🏔️

This is what it’s all about…

Not needing to miss out in general, is one of the greatest developments of the last few years or my life.

Being able to (in this instance) travel for nearly 3 weeks over the holidays isn’t something I could’ve done 5 years ago.

(All while still managing my entire remote roster btw)

I used to have to pick and choose which holidays I would take off for.

I used to worry about having a family and how I would manage my time between work and home life.

Ive missed more family time than I care to admit because of work.

I’m so glad that the position I’m in now, using remote coaching as my main job, has afforded me time.

I’m so glad that I decided to build in this direction.

It’s easy to get swept up…

You start your practice, with the whole world telling you how often small business fail

You start making some money, so you buckle down and start doing more of whatever made that money come in. Probably trading your time for more money.

Before you know it, you’re eyeballs deep in the small business owner grind, and the people that are supporting you through this whole endeavor, your family, get left in the dust.

Before that happens, right now, ask yourself if the practice model that you’re building will give you more or less free time as it grows.

Embrace the margins of your future business

Weekdays look different when you’re Remote

Patients still do what they need to improve, but do so asynchronously

This frees you up to, say, get an AM driving session in before a best ball tournament with your wife’s boss so you don’t embarrass yourself and bring shame to your family name

Or whatever else you have in mind
