It is a great time to be a Crepe Myrtle! You can see them blooming all over campus in shades of red, pink and white. Part of the name comes from the distinct crinkly, or crepe-like flowers. Their blooms last quite awhile so there is still time to enjoy them when Out and About.

Rudbeckia hirta, or black-eyed Susan, are putting on quite a show! Between their abundance and bright color, they're nearly impossible to miss. Make sure to include them on your route next time you're Out and About.

Today we're sharing the interesting blooms of the Northern Catalpa. You'll notice the neat patterns in the petals quickly, but if you look even closer, you may notice something else. Deep on the hunt for pollen, just the little legs of a bumblebee can be seen sticking out of the blossom. You never know what you might see, big or small, when Out and About.

Another tumultuous weather week! Love it or hate it, the rain is much-needed. Furthermore, sometimes storms can result in incredible displays in the sky, like this rainbow. Thank you to resident Betsy R. for sharing with photo with us. Can you see the second rainbow? Stay safe, but don't forget to occasionally look to the skies when Out and About.
