Hey everyone! After a 1.5 month hiatus, the airplane is back up and running. The starter failed, and a small part of it made its way inside the engine. Unfortunately we had to take the engine apart, and pretty much rebuild it due to damage caused by the part. We were very lucky to find it during an inspection, as this could have easily resulted in an engine failure. The good news is that we have some great flying weather and a strong running airplane. Thank you for your patience everyone.

Good day everyone! We have some exciting news to bring along with the new year. We will be adding a Redbird TD2 BATD (Basic Aviation Training Device) to the flight school. 10 hours can be logged towards an instrument rating, it can be used to maintain instrument currency and 2.5 hours can be logged towards a private pilot license. The possibilities for training/emergency scenarios are endless in a simulator. We expect to have the simulator set up and fully functional around the 19th of January. We will be introducing an intro to IFR course for $900 (this includes an instructor) if paid up front. It will include 10 hours of simulator time. Otherwise, the price will be $100 an hour. This price is extremely competitive with other BATD users in the area. Please reach out via email, FB, or my direct phone number with any questions. Good day everyone! We are looking into purchasing an FAA approved BATD (Basic Aviation Training Device). We are trying to gauge interest. A BATD can be used for IFR currency. You can also log 10 hours of BATD training towards your instrument rating. It would also be a great resource to practice maneuvers, or whatever you want, as flying simmers down a bit due to weather. We are thinking about puting together a 10 hour intro to IFR course that would get you more prepared for IFR training in the airplane. The idea is to save time and money. Our airplane is not an IFR bird, so we can’t offer the airplane portion of the training at this time (that could very well change in the future). The price would be somewhere on the $100 an hour range. Does this sound like something pilots might be interested in? Cheers, and thanks for any input/feedback!

Shout out to Stefano (a few weeks ago, left picture) and Fabio (today, right picture) for completing their first solo flights! They have been puting in the work and it’s paying off. Congratulations to Doug for passing his airplane single engine land, private pilot checkride! Doug is a commercial helicopter pilot, with thousands of hours fighting fires. This checkride gave him the ability to fly airplanes as well!

Jason got his private pilot license with us close to a year ago. He deserves to live his best life! He came in for an hour refresher. This license is really known as a “license to learn”. Nice to see you my friend!
