Congratulations to Sophia for being selected for the Songbook Academy for her second year!

Sophia O'Toole | Medfield, Massachusetts | Medfield High School | Songbook Academy Alum (2024)

Sophia is a rising high school senior in Medfield, MA and sings with the school chorus and a capella/jazz group SOUNDWAVES. She is very involved in theater with some of her favorite roles being the u/s for Velma in "CHICAGO", Rizzo in "GREASE," and Urchin in "LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS."

She's busy throughout the year, competing in different NATS divisions of RI, BOSTON, and NE for the past six years. Sophia has taken dance lessons for many different styles since the age of four and loves directing and using her dance skills to choreograph/direct for her a capella group and high school and summer camp productions this past year.

One of her favorite things she's ever done is perform at the 2020 STAR-TO-BE competition at BroadwayCon in NYC as a top 10 finalist. Sophia is thrilled and honored to be a part of the Songbook family once again this year!

William Daniel Russell | Westwood, Massachusetts | Westwood High School | Songbook Academy Alum (2023 & 2024)

William just graduated from Westwood High School in Massachusetts, and is headed to Ball State University right here in Indiana to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre. He is thrilled and so grateful to return to The Songbook Academy for a third year. William recently closed his last competition season with the award-winning dance and triple-threats teams at Ensemble Performing Arts Studio.

When he's not performing, William enjoys hiking, reading, archery, woodworking, and, of course, spending time with his friends.

William is thankful for the encouragement and guidance of many people, especially Eva Kendrick, Rob Goldman, his EPAS family, and the most supportive family a guy could ask for-thank you for being on this crazy journey with me!

What an inspiring week at the NATS National Student Auditions in Philly!! Congratulations to Nate Goldberg and Brynn Cullum for winning 2nd Place in Commercial Music for Youth and Lower High School TBB! It was also a joy to serve as an adjudicator, connect with wonderful colleagues and to see such incredible talent from singers from all across the country! It was also a special treat to get to see one of my former long-time students, Marie! Congratulations to all!!! 🌟👏🎶
