For a little while,
you get to be here.

You get to wake beneath a changing sky
and feel morning arrive through a window.

You get rain.

Cold floors.

Warm cups held between two hands.

You get music
that somehow knows where you hurt. And in that knowing the understanding that you are not alone, because someone else has felt exactly what you are feeling.

You get the smell of the earth after a storm.

The magic of the moon appearing
where you weren’t looking for it.

You get people.

Some who stay.

Some who leave.

Some who pass through so quickly
you only understand their importance later.

You get to love them anyway.

You get laughter that takes your breath away, makes your belly ache, and your cheeks hurt.

Tears that come before you know why.

You get beginnings.

Endings.

And all those ordinary days in between.

You get this body.

Imperfect.

Changing.

Temporary.

And for a little while,
it carries you everywhere.

It lets you touch.

Taste.

Dance.

Create.

You get to Feel the sun against your face.

And one day,
all of this will have been enough.

Not because you finished everything.

Not because you understood everything.

But because you were present for enough of it to feel…full.

So rest now.

Feel the earth beneath you.

Feel the breath arriving and leaving.

And for just this moment,

let being alive
be enough, because not everyone got that today.

Your hips may be holding more possibilities than you realize.

Join internationally recognized teacher David Vendetti for Hips Unraveled, a slow flow exploration designed to unfold the anatomical layers of the hips and reveal new possibilities for movement.

Through creative posture layering and the subtle, sometimes profound use of props, David will share techniques that can help you walk more freely, stand taller, and move through your yoga practice with greater ease.

⚠️ CAUTION: This workshop may cause waves of happiness, laughter, and tears of joy!

Sunday, September 27

You already know.

For the last 23 days, we’ve talked about what this training is, how it works, what we teach, why we keep it small, why anatomy matters, why philosophy matters, why the 8 Limbs matter, what 200 hours actually looks like, and what kind of teachers we hope to develop.

At some point, more information stops helping.

The question changes.

Do I want to do this?

Maybe you want to teach.

Maybe you want to understand the practice you’ve been doing for years.

Maybe something in you has been quietly pulling toward this training every time one of these posts comes across your screen.

You don’t need another 23 reasons.

You already know.

The question is whether you’re going to act on what you know.

The world doesn’t need another yoga teacher.

I wrote those words last year.

And I still believe them.

The world doesn’t need another person who can memorize a sequence, repeat somebody else’s cues, mimic shapes, or put RYT-200 after their name.

It needs teachers who practice.

Teachers who think.

Teachers who listen.

Teachers who understand what they know and, maybe more importantly, recognize what they don’t know.

Teachers willing to keep learning.

Teachers who take responsibility for the space they hold.

Teachers who have lived enough life to have something of their own to say.

That was the point of the article I wrote, “Why the World Doesn’t Need Another Yoga Teacher (and Why You Should Train Anyway).”

The answer I arrived at then was simple:

The world doesn’t need another yoga teacher unless it’s YOU, embodied and ready to stand in the truth of your own practice.

That is also what we’re trying to do with Burning Wheel Teacher Training.

We’re not trying to manufacture ten versions of Monique and me.

We’re trying to help ten people practice deeply enough, study seriously enough, question honestly enough, and teach often enough that eventually they discover the teacher that only they can become.

If that’s the kind of teacher you want to be, we should talk.

3 days until Early Bird pricing ends September 15.

What if, for 90 minutes, nobody needed anything from you?

No phone. No errands. No figuring out what’s for dinner.

Just 90 minutes where the only thing required is for you to show up.

On September 18, 6-7:30pm Margo and I are creating that space.

Margo will begin by guiding you through restorative yoga, using bolsters, blankets and props to fully support your body in gentle poses that are held for several minutes at a time.

And once your body has had a chance to settle, you'll be lulled into an even deeper state of rest as sound moves through the room, allowing you to sink a little further into stillness.

For 90 minutes, there is nothing to accomplish, nowhere to get to and absolutely nothing required of you.

You get to simply be.

What if I go through Teacher Training and never teach?

Then you spent six months learning more about something you already love.

You understand the body differently.

You understand the philosophy and tradition behind the practice.

You begin to recognize your own habits, patterns, assumptions, and ways of moving through the world.

And perhaps most importantly, your practice becomes more deeply yours.

Teacher Training does not have to be vocational training.

Some people enter because they know they want to teach. Some discover that desire along the way. Others simply want to understand the practice they’ve chosen to spend a meaningful part of their lives doing.

All three are legitimate reasons to train.

Education isn’t wasted because you don’t monetize it.

Sometimes learning something deeply is reason enough.

What does 200 hours of Yoga Teacher Training actually look like?

It looks like study. Practice. Questions. Observation. Teaching. Feedback. Trying something, learning from it, and trying again.

It looks like Thursday nights together on Zoom and monthly weekends together in person.

It looks like reading something you think you understand, then experiencing it in your own practice and realizing there’s another layer.

Because 200 hours isn’t a checkbox. It’s time under practice.

That time matters.

You can collect information quickly. Developing the perception, judgment, confidence, and experience to actually teach another human being takes longer.

That’s why Burning Wheel’s training unfolds from October through March. You have time to learn something, practice it, live with it, question it, and come back with a different understanding.

5 days until Early Bird pricing ends September 15.

One of the things I believe most strongly about education is that you never learn the same thing twice.

What you understand during your first 200 hours of training will change after you’ve taught 10 classes. And it will change again after 50. After 100.

Because you’ve changed.

That’s why graduating from Burning Wheel doesn’t end your relationship with the training.

Our graduates can come back to future trainings and revisit the material again. Anatomy. Philosophy. Teaching methodology. Sequencing. The things you thought you understood the first time, and the things you finally have enough experience to understand differently.

Graduate once. Come back anytime.

Because the goal was never simply to get you through 200 hours and hand you a certificate.

The goal is to help you become a teacher who continues learning.
