•YADAPP is an year-long partnership empowering teens to keep their schools and communities alcohol and drug free.

•YADAPP is youth-led. Students with common interests and ideals meet, connect and bond in a week full of fun activities, workshops and empowering speeches.

•YADAPP kick-off conference is attended each summer by approximately 600 high school students and adults from across Virginia.

•The kick-off conference is held each year at a college campus.

•YADAPP has impacted the lives of more than 10,000 students throughout Virginia since it began in 1984. More than 440 different high schools and community organizations have participated in this unique program.

•YADAPP is team-based, formed through high schools or community organizations. Team- One team consists of up to four Youth Participants and one Adult Sponsor. A team must be comprised of student leaders within either a high school or community organization. Adult Sponsor- The main role of an Adult Sponsor is to provide encouragement and guidance to their team while actively participating in the implementation of a substance abuse STAN Plan for their school or community. Youth Participants- Rising ninth through twelfth grade student leaders within a high school or community organization. Youth Participants should be selected for their commitment to leading drug-free lives and their peer leadership potential.
