WELCOME BACK!!
As we begin another school year at Atlee Christian Academy, we wanted to share this message because it so beautifully captures our hopes for the students entrusted to our care.

While the scenes in this video are illustrative, the heart behind these words is very much our own.

We want ACA to be a place where students are known, encouraged, challenged, loved, and reminded of who God has created them to be—a place where they can learn, grow, discover their gifts, and shine brightly.

We are grateful for every student, family, teacher, and staff member who makes ACA the special community it is. Here's to another year of learning and growing together!

MEET OUR 2026-2027 ELEMENTARY TEAM

ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL — ASHLEY WAHL
As we introduce our 2026–2027 Elementary Team, Mrs. Ashley Wahl certainly isn't new to ACA. In fact, she's been part of the ACA story since 2007. After 19 years of serving our children and families—first in preschool and then for 11 years in Kindergarten—Mrs. Wahl begins a new chapter this year as Principal of Atlee Christian Academy. She brings to this role not only years of educational experience, but also a deep knowledge of ACA, a love for its children and families, and a heart for its mission. Rather than tell her story for her, we'll let Mrs. Wahl share what this new chapter means—in her own words...

MEET MRS. WAHL
I attended Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Before moving to Virginia, my husband and I lived in New York, where I was the director of a day care facility. We moved to Mechanicsville in 2006, and I joined the ACA family in 2007.
I had the privilege of teaching preschool for my first eight years at ACA and Kindergarten for the next 11 years. I especially enjoyed being able to bridge the gap between preschool and elementary school and having a full understanding of the excitement and growth that this transition brings for both children and parents.
This year, I am excited to bring my 19 years of experience at ACA with me as I step into the role of Principal of Atlee Christian Academy. I have loved being a godly guide for children as they begin their elementary learning journey, and I look forward to continuing to guide our students and partner with families as they walk their educational and spiritual journeys through our halls in the coming years. My heart for this school and my dedication to our students and families will continue as I have the opportunity to support each of them in my role as principal.
When I’m not at school, I value spending time with my husband and our three children, as well as baking, playing tennis, and going on walks. As a family, we are very involved at Hope Community Church of the Nazarene and spend a lot of time volunteering in Kids Ministry.
I am so appreciative of each family who puts their trust in me to care for and help guide their child. Each one is truly a blessing.

FIFTH GRADE — ARLEYNA DUVAL
We're excited to introduce Mrs. Arleyna Duval, who begins her teaching career this year as ACA's Fifth Grade teacher! Her journey to the classroom is one shaped by faith, a love for children, and a growing sense of God's calling on her life. We wanted our ACA families to have an opportunity to hear that story directly from her—in her own words...

MEET MRS. DUVAL
I am excited to begin my teaching career as ACA’s fifth grade teacher! I earned my associate’s degree from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Western Governors University. Before joining ACA, I was a preschool teacher at Kitty’s Kids @ Shady Grove and later worked as an Instructional Aide for Hanover County Public Schools.
My faith is at the center of my life, and I worship at Shalom Baptist Church. During a mission trip, I had the opportunity to teach, play with, and share the love of Jesus with refugee children. It was there that God first placed a love for working with children on my heart. Through my experiences in preschool, public education, and college, He continued to confirm that teaching was His calling for my life.
I love watching students learn and grow, and nothing brings me more joy than seeing that “light bulb” moment when a child finally understands a new concept. I am grateful for the opportunity to teach in a Christian school where I can share His love with my students every day.
I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Tyler, for three years. Together we have two fur babies, a cat named Blizzard and a dog named Brinley. I love spending time with family and friends, especially my two nephews, and making memories with the people I love. In my free time, I enjoy crafting, painting, writing, cooking, and taking on creative projects.
Whether I’m in the classroom or at home, I enjoy finding new ways to encourage creativity, learning, and fun. I look forward to partnering with families as I encourage each student to grow academically, spiritually, and personally throughout the school year.

FOURTH GRADE — BECKY BANTON
As we continue highlighting our 2026–2027 Elementary Team, here's one familiar face that certainly needs no introduction! For the past 10 years, Mrs. Becky Banton has been an important part of the ACA family, loving, teaching, and investing in our students. We're grateful to have her continuing that investment with our Fourth Grade students this year. For those who may be newer to ACA, here's a little more about Mrs. Banton—in her own words...

MEET MRS. BANTON
I have been part of the ACA family for the past 10 years and am grateful for the opportunity to teach fourth grade. I earned my degree in Elementary Education from West Liberty University and enjoy helping students grow in both their learning and their faith.
I strive to create a classroom where every child feels loved, encouraged, and challenged to become all God created them to be.
My husband, Mark, and I are the proud parents of three wonderful children. Our older children, Jonathan and Macie, are college graduates, and our youngest, Emma, is a senior in high school. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching Emma compete in gymnastics, and cheering on the West Virginia Mountaineers during college football season!
I feel blessed to partner with our families and to be part of the ACA community.

THIRD GRADE — ANNALYNN HENDRICKSON
While Mrs. Annalynn Hendrickson may be a new face in our Elementary classrooms this year, she's certainly not new to ACA! After six years serving children through our After School and Day School programs, Mrs. Hendrickson begins her seventh year at ACA in a new role as our Third Grade teacher. MEET MRS. HENDRICKSON
I am excited to teach third grade at Atlee Christian Academy! I grew up here in Hanover County and come from a large family with two brothers and many cousins. In my free time, I enjoy creating art, working out, and spending time with friends.
I graduated from Liberty University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and am licensed to teach Kindergarten through sixth grade. While this is my first year teaching in ACA’s elementary school, it is my seventh year serving at Atlee Christian Academy through our After School and Day School programs.
I am grateful to be part of this wonderful community and look forward to partnering with families to help each child learn and grow throughout the school year.

SECOND GRADE — TRACIE PARKER
We're excited to introduce Mrs. Tracie Parker, who joins our Elementary team as our Second Grade teacher! A Mechanicsville native with an incredible 35-year career in public education, Mrs. Parker brings a wealth of classroom experience and a passion for reaching students of all ability levels. MEET MRS. PARKER
As a proud Mechanicsville native, I am thrilled to join the ACA family! I hold a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from VCU, a master’s degree in Elementary Education from UVA, and an endorsement in Supervision and Administration.
My 35-year career with New Kent County Public Schools was incredibly fulfilling. During those years, I taught second and third grade and also had the opportunity to serve as a lead teacher and mentor. I am deeply passionate about reaching students of all ability levels and feel grateful to continue my life’s work right here in the community where I was born and raised.
Outside of school, I enjoy life as a mom to my two adult children, Nathan and Hannah, and as a “cat mom” to Josie and Feta. You can often find me playing cards with my mom and sisters, cooking, reading, or catching up on my favorite crime shows.
