Just a little friendly reminder as we head into a new school year! With all the excitement of being back together also comes the season of sniffles, coughs, and all those little germs that love to make their rounds.

To help keep all of our little friends healthy and minimize the spread of germs, we follow a 48-hour symptom-free policy.

We know that coughs and runny noses can sometimes linger long after a child is feeling better. Once your child is past those rough first days, is feeling like themselves again, and all other symptoms have been gone for a full 48 hours, they are more than welcome to come back and join the fun! šŸ’›

Thank you for doing your part to help keep our preschool friends, families, and teacher happy and healthy! 🌿

ā€œChildren need a lot of opportunities that are relatively unstructuredā€.

šŸ™ŒšŸ» Yes! Children need that time. They need opportunities to problem-solve, develop executive functioning skills, build language as they communicate with their peers, and think through challenges on their own.

They also need adults who know how to intentionally set up an environment where they can safely do all of those things without an adult constantly stepping in and doing it for them.

I wholeheartedly believe our role as adults is to give children the tools, environment, and support they need—and then give them the space to trial-and-error their way to success with minimal intervention. There is so much learning that happens in the process and it goes beyond the push for academics in the early years ā¤ļø

September Sneak Peek šŸ‘€ It’s All About Me! Can’t wait to meet our new friends who are staring in just a few short weeks as we dive into learning all about ourselves. We are excited to announce that we have added the the Toy Box and More Math and Literacy programs to compete our curriculum. Parents can log into their Brigthwheel app and check out how our daily activities are meeting developmental milestones and kindergarten readiness skills! Enjoy the end of your summer and we will see each other soon 🄰

• The Toy Box is a supplementary collection designed to offer hands-on, developmental toy play resources that align with our monthly early learning goals.

• More Math and Literacy help transition children smoothly into kindergarten by challenging them with advanced concepts.

We are so grateful for all the support and exited to announce…..

We’re officially a 2026 Macaroni KID Village Standout! ā¤ļø The Art of Play received special recognition in BOTH the Child Care & Daycare AND Preschools categories for the meaningful role we play in the lives of local families. We are honored to be part of a village filled with so many incredible businesses, organizations, destinations and people. Thank you 🄰 to the families who continue to support us and share what we do with others.

Today is such a bittersweet day as we say goodbye to some very special friends. šŸ„ŗā¤ļø

Days like today always make me pause and reflect—not only on the children who are moving on to their next adventures, but also on all of the amazing little ones and families who have come through my doors over the years.

I feel incredibly blessed and honored to have been trusted with so many children. As a mom myself, I truly can’t think of a greater privilege than caring for someone else’s little one.

One of the greatest joys of this journey has been watching my daycare kiddos continue to grow long after they’ve left my program. Seeing them thrive in elementary school, high school, and even adulthood is such a special gift.

People often say that family child care becomes like family, and after 18 years, I can honestly say that’s true. It isn’t just the children who become part of your life—their families do too. Through life’s celebrations and challenges, the growth of The Art of Play, and my own journey into motherhood as I welcomed four babies, my daycare families have been part of my story just as much as I’ve been part of theirs. I am so grateful for the incredible village that has supported not only The Art of Play, but my own family as well.

So today is both hard and beautiful. It’s a day to celebrate the families I’ve grown alongside, remember all the little faces that have filled my home with laughter over the years, and make room in my heart for the new friends who will join us in just a few short weeks.

To every current and former daycare kiddo—thank you for letting me be a small part of your story. I am so proud of each of you and can’t wait to hear about all of the exciting adventures ahead. ā¤ļø
