The "ROCK BAND" Program by Rod Goelz Learn by doing!! Rod Goelz' "ROCK BAND" Program teaches students how to learn and grow in their very own rock band and grow as people in the process!

"The ROCK BAND Program" in my legacy project... I share everything I have learned in my life..." Rod Goelz' "ROCK BAND Program" teaches all levels of skill (from beginner to advanced) how to learn the "art of ensemble"... musicians getting together face to face, and finding, shaping, and manifesting their sound! Learn what it takes to be in a rock band from inception to performance and back again.

Topics include: instrumental mastery, determining your own unique sound, set list, arranging and rearranging, vocalizing, songwriting, recording, marketing, and performing with their own band. A new approach in music education for the creative/musical minded. "The ROCK BAND Program" is a vitally important part of my legacy project... the program is about me organizing and sharing everything I have learned in my life as a performing musician, songwriter, author, and educator. So many hard won lessons and opportunities to experience music in a more idealized way. No two experiences are the same, no two sounds are the same... each ensemble builds an identity, sound, attitude, and creative path. It's a best of what I have to give back..."

Join a Real Rock Band. Learn the Real Skills.

The ROCK BAND PROGRAM and the rock group Patinas are actively looking for teen musicians who want more than lessons — they want to be in a band.

This is a unique, guided learning experience where students don’t just practice music…
they live it.

Influences include 90s alternative and rock — think Nirvana, Silverchair, Indie Rock, Garage, Experimental, and beyond — while developing an original sound of our own.

Under the guidance of (Music Educator) Rod Goelz, founder of the ROCK BAND PROGRAM, students learn from a lifetime Rock/"Modern Band" Coach and experience what it’s really like to be part of a working band.

🎶 WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

This is not a recital-based program.
Band members gain real-world experience in:

🎤 Musicianship - leveling up as a musician, and band member
🎤Performance & stage presence
✍️ Songwriting
🎼 Arranging
🎧 Recording
📣 Marketing and promoting a band
🤝 "Banding" - Being a great bandmate/Being part of team.

You’ll rehearse, create, collaborate, and grow — together.

🎯 WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR:
🎤 "Rock" Singer (Singers) / Front Person (People)

Someone ready to step out front. We work on more than singing — confidence, movement, presence, and communication. No need to be perfect — growth mindset required

🎸 Second Guitar "Lead" Player

Rhythm + some lead ability preferred. Open to learning parts, tones, and arranging ideas. Creativity is a must!!

Team player energy is a must

🎸 Bass Player

Solid time feel and groove. Interested in locking with drums and shaping the band’s sound

Intermediate players welcome

🚀 WHO THIS IS FOR

Teens who love rock music
Teens who want to play with others, not just alone
Teens ready to grow musically and personally
Parents looking for a structured, meaningful music program
