NAAC also fulfills an industry-wide need for reliable and timely recurrent education for ambulance compliance officers, privacy officers and billing staff, to ensure consistent, ongoing compliance with the ever changing, complex rules and regulations affecting the industry. NAAC-certified professionals maintain their competency through annual continuing education requirements. NAAC provides and accredits a wide range of continuing education programs throughout the year, both in classroom and online offerings.

"There are two skills we use every single day but train on the least: documentation and driving. There are also two types of lawsuits that get us in the most trouble: documentation and driving."

That’s a message Dr. Shannon Gollnick has shared with CACO attendees, highlighting a challenge that can have serious compliance consequences for EMS agencies.

"For some reason, we just don't provide enough training or education in these areas. We assume our employees already know and understand them."

The Certified Ambulance Compliance Officer (CACO) course is designed to challenge those assumptions and give EMS professionals the knowledge and practical tools they need to identify risks, address compliance concerns and strengthen their organizations.

It’s been an incredibly busy week for the NAAC team!

We kicked off our first day at the ARIZONA AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION INC Conference in Flagstaff, where NAAC Coordinator Britanie Holubik is holding down the fort and talking with EMS professionals about what’s ahead this fall.
