We are a little late in getting this out, but Gabriel Meza is one of our newest instructors, and his lesson schedule is filling up quickly. We couldn't be happier to have such a wonderful addition to our staff! Welcome Gabriel! If interested in lessons with Gabriel, please leave us a message at 717-691-9100 or email us at [email protected].
Violinist Gabriel Meza enjoys a varied career performing as an orchestral musician, soloist, and chamber musician, while also teaching many talented aspiring artists. Gabriel is currently a member of Harrisburg Symphony and York Symphony. In past years, while living in Maryland, he served as the Assistant Concertmaster of Annapolis Symphony and was also a member of Baltimore Chamber Orchestra. In addition to his orchestral performances, Gabriel has appeared as soloist with York Symphony, and has been honored to represent the Annapolis and York Symphonies in chamber music concerts. Recently, he has enjoyed performing in the pit orchestra for musical theatre performances at the Fulton Theatre in Lancaster, PA.
Gabriel graduated from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where he studied with Mr. Keng-Yuen Tseng, earning Bachelors, Masters, and Graduate Performance Diploma degrees there. While at Peabody, he received top merit scholarships for all his studies at the school, and he won first prize in the undergraduate violin competition there.
Gabriel’s students have won youth concerto competitions, have been featured as soloists with youth orchestras, have won high honors in competitive rating systems such as NYSSMA and PMEA, and have been admitted to prestigious college and conservatory music programs. Gabriel has been a faculty member at various academies, including Opus Ithaca School of Music and Annapolis Symphony Academy, and he has been invited to give master class and performance presentations at Susquehanna University and the University of the Southern Caribbean.
As a teacher, Gabriel seeks to develop the highest level of excellence possible in each student through a challenging and encouraging atmosphere. He wishes to introduce his students to the same richly rewarding and enjoyable experiences of making music that have provided him with the motivation to strive for excellence in his own musical career. Each student is different, and Gabriel tailors his teaching to the individual student’s musical dreams and goals—whether those goals are to be admitted to a competitive program, to gain a solid foundation when first beginning studies on the instrument, to build skills to perform a certain piece, or to simply receive extra help on school orchestra music. Gabriel loves to inspire students with specific audition or performance opportunities that will push them to reach their full potential, and he also loves to see them thrive with healthy musical growth exactly where they are.
