This week we celebrate our amazing teachers (and staff)! Each staff member can select a "lucky duck" that enters them into a raffle for daily prizes courtesy of the Cumberland Valley Eagle Foundation. Now is a great time to send a thank you note to a CV staff member who made a positive impact in a student's life.

Students have had the opportunity to visit several post high school institutions. Last week a group of students visited Universal Technical Institute where they learned about careers in various fields and trades.

We recently inducted our newest members of the National Honor Society. These students must meet high academic and service standards. Congratulations!

Bio students took a strand of DNA, replicated it, transcribed it into RNA, then translated the strand into a protein (graham cracker) with amino acids (toppings). If they made a mistake they could end up with pickles or salt on their crackers. Cool activity!

You KNOW you have amazing school counselors when for National School Counselor Week THEY send out tips to students via Schoology and show empathy (and candy!) for staff. Pictured are the CV9 and CV10-12 counselors. THANK YOU counselors!

In case you missed it on Friday, many amazing students performed in our annual THON Factor. A showcase of talent that raised money for a great cause.

CV10-12's History and Literature of Black Civil Rights students attended Messiah University’s annual MLK Jr. celebration on Tuesday and met Movement veterans Lynda Blackmon Lowry and JoAnne Bland. Lynda and JoAnne marched for voting rights in Selma and were both present on the Edmund Pettus Bridge on Bloody Sunday, March 7, 1965. JoAnne was especially touched when CV students wore t-shirts of her likeness to the event.
