JV Football Banquet
Dear Parents of 2014 JV Football Players:
What a great year we had on the Junior Varsity football team. Our team accomplished several goals including a winning season (10-0) and winning the Mid-State 3A conference championship. These accomplishments are certainly praise-worthy and are reason to celebrate.
On Sunday, January 11th at 2:00pm we will celebrate our season with an end-of-year football banquet in the Eastern High School auditorium. All players will be recognized, light refreshments will be served and a highlight film from the entire season will be shown. The event will last approximately an hour and a half.
I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you of several things that will certainly help our program continue to be successful as we proceed through the 2014-2015 school year.
1. We expect all players to continue to be excellent in the classroom. Academics must always come first.
2. Behavior at school and in the community must be a premium and players must remember they are always representing their families, their team, their school and themselves. People in the community are always watching our student-athletes!
3. We encourage all players to participate in winter and spring sports and weight room activities. Studies have shown that grades are always better when student-athletes have a structured regiment and they make better choices while at school and outside of school when they do not want to let their team down.
4. We encourage all players to stay in contact with their position coach as much as possible. We care about all our players and we want to make sure they are doing well in school, athletics, and in the community.
5. Stay tuned for more information regarding winter, spring, and summer workouts. The NCHSAA has approved 10 days of Spring practice and we are really pleased to have this opportunity for our team to improve. We must get faster and stronger if we wish to remain competitive. Also, we must constantly be conscious of bettering ourselves for next year’s season in all facets. It will be here before you know it. Our success next season will be determined by our efforts in the offseason!
We hope to see all of you at our banquet, but if you cannot attend, please encourage your son to touch base with me prior to the event so I can place his award off to the side. On behalf of our coaching staff, thanks so much for all your efforts that made this season a great one for all involved. We had a great group of volunteer parents that worked tirelessly to make all of us successful!!
Thanks so much,
Patrick Stokes
