We are EM Yoder Elementary’s parent and teacher group (Parent Teacher Association). We raise funds and sponsor events to support EM Yoder Elementary. We work to strengthen the connection between home and school and to encourage family involvement.

Meet one of your PTA Members at Large: Tyffany Nyland-Roten

Hi! I’m Tyffany, and I’m so excited to be part of the EM Yoder PTA! I’m a mom of two, one currently at EM Yoder and one who isn’t quite old enough for elementary school yet.

Professionally, I’m a family nurse practitioner, caring for patients of all ages. I also have the privilege of teaching nurses who are working toward becoming nurse practitioners. I love being able to split my time between helping people feel their best and teaching the next generation of healthcare providers. Outside of work and family life, I love traveling, exploring new places, and trying new foods! I also enjoy reading a good book!

Over the past year, I’ve loved volunteering to help improve our school’s new nature playground, with my husband, Michael, by my side. Michael owns a local mobile automotive business, Michael’s Mobile Mechanics, and also enjoys giving back to our school community. It’s been so rewarding for us to be part of this project, and we’re excited to continue making it a fun and special space for our Yoder kids. We hope you’ll join us at an upcoming cleanup day!

I’m looking forward to getting more involved in the PTA and working together to make our school community a wonderful place for our children! Go Eagles!

THANK YOU to everyone who came and worked so hard on the Nature Playground getting it ready for our students to come back! And a special THANK YOU to Tyffany Roten for leading this effort! What an incredible job!

We’ve been busy adding, organizing, tidying, and sprinkling a little extra fun around the Nature Playground, and there’s SO much new for our Yoder Eagles to explore!

🎭 The stage is ready for its stars! We added tons of dress-up accessories so kids can create characters, put on a show, and let those imaginations run wild.

🧲 The magnet wall got organized with even more magnets and a storage box for extras.

🧚 The fairy garden welcomed some new animal friends, plus a tote to keep everything organized.

🥁 We added more fun to the music wall.

🍳 The sand kitchen got a full tidy-up AND an additional kitchen because apparently one kitchen simply cannot contain all that culinary genius. 😂

🪵 We rearranged the stumps around the stage to create more audience seating for those very important performances.

🖍️ Chalk now has waterproof storage containers AND erasers, because soggy chalk is nobody’s friend.

🗑️ We picked up trash and gave the whole area some much-needed TLC.

🌸 And we even spread a little love beyond the playground by adding flowers to the school courtyard!

These may seem like little things, but together they make our Nature Playground an even more creative, inviting, and FUN place for our kids to learn and play. 💚

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated items, volunteered, cleaned, organized, planted, hauled, and helped us continue improving this incredible space. Teamwork makes the playground work! 🌿🦅

Last week’s Meet the Teacher was so much fun! Thank you to all the parents and kiddos who stopped by the PTA table and got their photo with the Eagle! 🌳🪏☀️REMINDER!!

Please join us for our upcoming Nature Playground Volunteer Clean-Up Day this Saturday, August 22 from 1-3pm.

Our Nature Playground is a wonderful space for students, but because it's a wooded area, it requires regular maintenance and ongoing improvement projects.

If you have them, please bring gardening or yard tools such as work gloves, rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, w**d whackers, pruning shears, hedge trimmers, or buckets. Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

Whether you can stay for the whole time or just a little while, your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for helping us care for this special space for our students!

Hi! I'm Sam, mom to a rising 1st grader! By day, I work in student life at a Elon University, helping students build meaningful experiences outside the classroom. Volunteering with the PTA has been a wonderful opportunity to support our school, connect with other families, and help create a positive experience for all of our students. I'm excited to be involved and look forward to a great school year!

Whether this is your family’s first year at Yoder, your last year, or somewhere in between, we want you to know one thing: there’s a place for you in our PTA community.

Meet Your 2026-2027 PTA Series!!

President: Michelle Schoepper

Hi, Eagles! 👋

I’m Michelle Schoepper, and I’m truly honored to serve as your PTA President for the 2026-2027 school year!

I’m a mom to two amazing kids, a 4th grader at EM Yoder and a 7th grader at Woodlawn Middle. By day, I work full-time in the biotech industry, and outside of corporate America, I own Sunbird Travel & Events. I also love giving back to our community through the Downtown Mebane Development Corporation Event Planning Committee, the Mebane Woman’s Club, and the Mebane Recreation & Parks Advocacy Commission.

Whether I’m organizing an event, planning a trip, or volunteering in our community, I truly love bringing people together and creating opportunities for people to connect.

I believe the PTA is about so much more than fundraising. My vision is to create a welcoming community where every family feels connected, informed, and valued. This year you’ll see a focus on communication, more opportunities for families to get involved, fun events that bring us together, and making it easier than ever to know what’s happening at our school.

Whether you have an hour to volunteer, a new idea to share, or just want to meet other Yoder families, there’s a place for you in our PTA.

I’m excited for everything we’ll accomplish together this year. Let’s make it a fantastic year for our Eagles! 💚🦅
