Summer Spotlight with Ashley!

“This summer I have been working at Crawford County District Attorneys office. I get to sit-in and observe court as well as work directly with the attorneys on case files. I am very thankful for this opportunity because the hands on learning experience is unlike anything I would have ever been able to learn on my own. It has opened up more legal opportunities for me in law school.”

Our next summer spotlight with Emily!

“This summer I had the opportunity to study English Literature at Girton College at the University of Cambridge. Girton College is 1 of 31 of Cambridge’s Colleges. Girton was the first college for women in the United Kingdom. I’ve had the opportunity to learn about the first 5 women to study at Girton and all the challenges the women faced to become a member of the University and for their students to be allowed degrees. I also got to listen to a Virginia Woolf scholar talk about Woolf and the speech she gave to the women of Girton that later become “A Room of One’s Own” in the room she delivered the speech to the women of Girton. Hearing the stories of all the women who have studied before me and to have walked the same halls that they have reminded me how grateful I am to receive the education that I do and to have the opportunity and ambition to aim for a higher level of education. Studying at Girton under Cambridge faculty has also been an amazing opportunity as I prepare for graduate school application. Within 5 days, I worked with 5 novels (including Virginia Woolf) and over 15 poems. It was incredible to work with other English students from all over the country. Cambridge is a wonderful place for scholars to grow and think and I’m so thankful to have thought and been surrounded by so many scholars.”

Our next Twin Star Spotlight is Catie and Mack!

“Shout out Theta for bringing me closer to this lovely girl!!! I had already known Mack before Theta, and when I heard she was COBing I genuinely screamed (I was so excited if u couldn’t tell). Ever since, we have gotten closer and I’m not lying when I say she’s one of the coolest and funniest people I know…makes me cackle 24/7. I just know we’re gonna get even closer and I can’t wait to work together on ERB…love my girl and love theta lots and always:)) TLAM”

Our first Summer Spotlight with Skye Kramer!

“This summer, I am working as the Assistant Program Director at Resica Falls Scout Reservation. Throughout the school year I was working diligently on planning and developing our program plan to incorporate our wizards theme. Upon arriving at camp, I get to help execute the magic happening here as well as solve any camper and staff problems when they arise.”

We are so proud of and all of our other members hard work over the summer!

Our first Twin Star Tuesday for the summer with Abby and Ashlynn💛

“I will always be so grateful for Theta bringing Ashlynn and I together. We immediately bonded our freshman year over our similar experiences in athletics when she decided to COB shortly after I did. Since then we have gotten so much closer and grown so much during our time in Theta. I love getting to work with her on exec and she is always helping me out with ideas. Ashlynn also has been such a great friend to me and i feel like i can always turn to her when i am feeling overwhelmed and she is my biggest cheerleader! TLAM Ash

Thankful for Theta: Theta has given me a supportive community of leading women that I know I will always be able to lean on. I can always count on them to make me laugh or give me the best advice. The friendships I have built in Theta have taught me so much about myself and the type of person I want to be, and I’m so grateful for the people in this chapter.
