Southwest Virginia is quickly becoming the focal point for the artisan culture of middle Appalachia. The region is an international destination for collectors of high-quality, hand-crafted works that speak to the area’s history and cultural allure. As the artisan economy of Southwest Virginia blossoms, so do the demands for locations where artists can create and retail their works. In Meadowview, along Interstate 81, the main travel corridor of Southwest Virginia, the Meadowview Art Center provides opportunities for artists to engage with art lovers as they work on, display, and sell their creations. Locals can also take advantage of a variety of art classes and workshops by both resident and guest artists. The Center is located in Meadowview, VA in the beautiful renovated Meadowview Train Depot. The attractive, historic facility includes artist studios and classroom and retail space, as well as a glass studio and full pottery studio with kiln, wheels, slab roller, and more.
