The STAR method stands for Situation, Task, Action, Result.

Situation: Start by establishing the situation and sharing any important details.
Task: Recount your specific task or responsibility.
Action: Describe, step-by-step, what you did to address the task or responsibility.
Result: End with the impact of your actions.
This STAR Method Job Interview Practice activity consists of 10 real-life behavioral situations and questions, including:

The Career Exploration Research: Choosing a Career - Complete Lesson is career research made easy! This complete lesson plan includes:

How-to Guide
3 day lesson plans
teaching resources
graphic organizers
differentiated student activities, including a presentation template
assessments

Lesson plans are written for 3 class periods (approximately 45 minutes each), but can be completed in 2 class periods on a block schedule (90 minutes each). Each lesson plan is followed by its corresponding resources.

The Career Exploration Research: Choosing a Career PowerPoint and the Teacher’s PowerPoint Companion will provide you with the information you need to emphasize to your students the importance of making an informed decision when choosing a career.

The lessons include multiple activities for assessing students’ understanding of the learning objectives. Some activities are differentiated by DOK level for your convenience. DOK level activities can be identified by the level number in the top right corner of the page. The Day 3 lesson requires students to create a presentation. A presentation template has been provided for your convenience. The presentation template can easily be uploaded to Google Slides and shared through Google Classroom as an alternative to having students design from scratch.

Research shows that attendance is an important factor in student achievement as well as in workplace success. The Pay for Performance classroom management activity has been proven effective in increasing student attendance and punctuality and decreasing frequent requests to leave class for unnecessary restroom breaks and visits to the nurse.

Pay for Performance is designed to:
-help the teacher with classroom management
-students are “paid” according to attendance and punctuality
-students “pay” to leave the room for restroom breaks, etc.
-hold students accountable for their own actions
-practice soft skills such as work attendance, punctuality, and remaining on task/being productive
-teach students how to write checks and maintain an account register
-be used with Excel or Google Sheets to keep record of student pay
