On Thursday, our students had the opportunity to meet some police officers. Officer Chris Pope with the TCBOE Police Department 🚓 shared how he uses various tools to help him at his job and keep us safe. We were able to listen to the police siren and climb inside the back of the police car. 🚨
Chief Glen Conley from our McRae Helena Police Department talked with us about the technology they used in the police cars. Officers Faith Dawson and Dean White let us see the inside of their cars. We are glad they help keep our schools safe and our communities safe.
Thank you so much for sharing how you help our community! 🤩

The Georgia Forestry Commission visited with our students on Tuesday. We learned about how they help us take care of our forests. 🌳 We were able to see the bulldozer they use when fighting forest fires. Smokey Bear 🐻 even gave us a high five and reminded us to never play with matches or fires. 🔥
Thank you so much for sharing how you help our community.

The Telfair County Health Department visited with our PreK students to talk about how they help keep us healthy. Ms. Kayla and Ms. Ashton brought their nursing bag with items they use everyday. They even brought Mr. Teddy who was hurt. He had bandaids and bandages everywhere. 🤕
One of the tools nurses use is a stethoscope. Students were able to listen to each others heartbeat.
Thank you Ms. Kayla and Ms. Ashton for sharing your job with us. 👩‍⚕️🩺😷
