What do we do? - Our purpose is to serve as a loca
l referral resource for Criminal Justice agencies in their pursuit to protect our communities through the use of effective behavior change interventions. Our live programs help our Class Participants make and keep significant pro-social change in their behavior. What class types are offered? – Our offender paid web-class uses a video conferencing format that allows participants to attend our live, professionally facilitated and interactive class via the internet on their computer, laptop, tablet or smart phone from their home or other appropriate space. Prior to the class, PDS will mail participants their course workbooks, the same Interactive Journaling® curriculum used in our on-site classes, developed in collaboration with The Change Companies ™, the nation’s leading publisher of Evidence-Based behavior change curriculum. Engaging in non-confrontational, open, and positive discussions and journaling exercises, the programs help the participants clarify their personal values, the gap between where they've been, where they are now, and where they wish to be/go in life. The focus is on choices and changes needed to set and achieve values-driven life goals. The material covers the thinking processes and cognitive strategies for making “workable choices”. It also includes participant exercises on managing their relationship with alcohol and drugs, high-risk situations, building a support network, and recognizing strengths and abilities.
