It's a whole new year and a few (hard-to-come-by) Saturday slots just opened up for private coaching! Preparing for an audition? Have a competition coming up? Need to dive into some character work for a show you're in? I got you. I am honored to be working with some of the hardest working and committed students in our community, both youth and adult. It isn't just about landing the role...it's about feeling the growth, understanding the work, and committing to the craft. It's about building confidence and finding pathways to connection.

The aim of this Vocal Performance workshop is to give individuals a warm, intimate, safe and supportive space within which to practice their craft, to grow as actors and to connect with other like-minded artists in the community. This class offers the opportunity to build your audition book, expand your repertoire, and to dive deeper into more honest and grounded storytelling. Come join us as we work on growing your storytelling and acting skills, with an opportunity to perform for friends and family on Valentines Day at 2pm!

I nearly ran out of room congratulating my Novella students on all of their wins this month!! September is a big month for auditions, and I have been OVER-the-MOON to be on the other end of the line for all of your phone calls and texts sharing the good news! You each worked so hard to be prepared for your auditions and have solidly earned these opportunities. I am so proud of you all! Now go have fun telling these stories!

CLASS DESCRIPTION:
The aim of this Vocal Performance workshop is to give individuals a warm, intimate, safe and supportive space within which to practice their craft, to grow as actors and to connect with other like-minded artists in the community. This class offers the opportunity to build your audition book, expand your repertoire, and to dive deeper into more honest and grounded storytelling. Students will choose 1-2 songs from the musical theater genre to work on within the 6 week time-frame, with the majority of the work of learning your song being done at home. Come with a strong handle on your music, and we'll begin to unravel the layers of the story you're wanting to tell. An experienced accompanist will be at every class to accompany you and to help with any challenge spots in the song. The focus of each class will be on the art of storytelling. Each week, students will get up one at a time and work on their song in front of their peers, with feedback from myself and your accompanist, Anne Britt. You will have the opportunity to learn from me, from your accompanist, and from each other.

Whew! 😅 That’s a wrap! Thank you, sweet space, for housing my passion project this summer: Novella Acting Studio. You gave us the perfect place to gather, feel safe, be heard, get connected and tell some really meaningful & fun stories. Eighteen students stepped through your doors six weeks ago, super nervous and not sure what they were getting into. And today, you held them all as they got up in front of friends & family and gave a performance that made the whole room FEEL. I teared up so many times, still laughed at the songs I’ve been hearing for weeks, and couldn’t stop holding my heart and beaming from ear-to-ear. Thank you to each of you for going on this adventure with me! My cup is so full! 🙏🏻🎶💛
