✨DOLLY UP & DREAM BIG! ✨

This Friday, August 28th, we’re celebrating the one and only Dolly Parton with a special Dolly Up Dress-Up Day! ⭐ Grab your country glam, cowboy boots, denim, rhinestones, or your best Dolly-inspired look and join in on the fun!

But we’re doing more than just dressing up! 💭 Each student and staff member will receive a square of paper to create a picture representing their dream for the future. Once everyone has shared their dreams, we’ll put all of our squares together to create a beautiful “Quilt of Many Dreams.” 🧵

Just like a quilt is made up of many different pieces, our school is made up of many unique people, talents, hopes, and dreams. We can’t wait to see what our school community dreams about—and to celebrate how every dream matters!

So shine like a country star, dress up, dream big, and help us create our very own Quilt of Many Dreams! 💕🎶

Permission slips must be signed and returned to Coach Phyllis Boren by the end of the day on Wednesday, August 12th.

Please be sure your student comes prepared and dressed appropriately. T-shirt, shorts, tennis shoes, hair tied up, and water bottle handy.

🚨 CAR RIDER REMINDER 🚨

Parents and families, please remember that the car rider gate does NOT open until 2:30 PM.

For the safety of our students, families, and staff, please do not line up in the roadway or turning lane before 2:30 PM. The City of McMinnville has asked us to remind everyone that vehicles waiting in the road or turning lane before that time are subject to a ticket.

🚫 Please also do NOT park in or use parking spaces at surrounding businesses while waiting for dismissal. You are at risk of receiving a ticket and/or having your vehicle towed.

Bobby Ray Elementary wants nothing more than to keep our students and families safe. We appreciate your cooperation and your help in following these guidelines so that dismissal can run safely and smoothly for everyone.

We’re officially heading into our first full week of school, and we couldn’t be more excited for all that this year has in store! 💙💛

Our August newsletter is packed with a few highlights, important dates, upcoming activities, and a look at some of the wonderful things happening around our school. From our Wizard of Oz school theme and One Book One School initiative to upcoming events like Pizza Sales and the Book Fair, there’s lots to look forward to!

Thank you to our students, families, and staff for helping us kick off such a great start to the school year. We’re excited to follow the Yellow Brick Road together and make this a year to remember!

💦🌟 STARburst Day is TOMORROW! 🌟💦

We’re kicking off the school year with an afternoon full of water fun, laughter, and memories! The local fire department will be joining us to cool off our students with the fire truck!

Parents/Guardians, please make sure your child brings:
• A complete change of clothes
• A towel
• Water shoes or an extra pair of shoes (optional, but recommended)
• Sunscreen (applied before school if desired)
• Any additional items they may need to stay comfortable
👕 All students must wear a T-shirt and shorts with a bathing suit underneath OR swim trunks with a T-shirt on.
Water activities will take place after lunch, and students will have time to change before dismissal.

There’s no place like Bobby Ray! ❤️💚

🚗 DROP-OFF REMINDERS! 🚗

We want to make sure every student has a safe and smooth start to their school day! Please take a moment to review the important drop-off reminders below:

⏰ The front office does not open until 7:30 AM.
🚧 The gates close at 7:40 AM. Students must be signed in through the office and will be counted tardy after 7:45 AM.
👨‍👩‍👧 No student drop-offs are permitted in the front office. Students must be accompanied by an adult.

Thank you for helping us keep our morning arrival process safe, organized, and efficient for everyone! We appreciate your patience and cooperation. 💙
