🍎 Fall Enrollment at Happy Face Preschool! 🍎

We are getting ready for another fun year of learning, growing, and making memories together! 💛

Happy Face Preschool offers full-time and part-time care for children ages 2–6 during the school year.

✨ Our Fall Groups Include:
• Preschool — ages 2–3
• Beginner Pre-K — children turning 4
• Pre-Kindergarten — preparing our older preschoolers for their next big step!

Our program combines play-based learning with intentional learning opportunities, helping children develop socially, emotionally, and academically while still having plenty of time to explore and PLAY! 🧩🎨📚

Children naturally look to the adults they trust for reassurance. When parents stay calm, confident, and consistent at drop-off, it helps children regulate their emotions and feel safe. A quick hug, an “I love you,” and a confident goodbye can make all the difference. Great video on this topic !

💃🕺 We love starting our group learning time with the Wiggle Dance by Danny Go! 🎶
We get our bodies moving before we get our brains learning! A few minutes of dancing, stretching, and wiggling helps children wake up, improve focus, and get excited for group learning

🌟 Introducing Happy Face Discovery Time! 🌟

We’re excited to add Happy Face Discovery Time to our afternoon routine for children who no longer nap or who wake early from rest.
Our afternoon schedule will continue to include a quiet rest period for all preschool children, following Oregon licensing guidelines. Children are never required to fall asleep, and those who are awake after resting quietly for 30–45 minutes will be offered books, fidgets, and other quiet activities. Children who naturally fall asleep may be gently awakened around 1:45–2:00 PM, when appropriate, to join Discovery Time.
Discovery Time will include hands-on STEM activities, literacy, math games, creative projects, and engaging discussions designed to encourage curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.
Every child has unique sleep needs, and we will continue to work closely with families while supporting each child’s individual development. We look forward to this exciting new part of our day!

☀️🏈 Summer Games & Sports Week Fun! 🎲🧩🍎

This week has been full of learning, movement, and fun! Children practiced counting with apple trees, bears, and ice cream scoops while using tongs to strengthen fine motor skills and explore colors. They matched colorful elephants to color words in our rice sensory bin, worked on writing tablets and matching activities, created with colorful cubes at the light table, and enjoyed drawing with magnetic letters and numbers on the outdoor easel.

Our Summer Games activities included board games, card games, and puzzles that encouraged turn-taking, problem-solving, and teamwork. During Sports Day, children enjoyed outdoor activities, practiced gross motor skills, and talked about their favorite sports while learning about teamwork and staying active. We also explored questions such as, “How far can you jump?” and “How far can you throw?”

With indoor climbing, shaded sandbox play, plenty of water breaks, and healthy popsicles shared by Lowree, it has been a wonderful week filled with learning, friendship, and summer fun—with more exciting activities still to come! ☀️💛

A special visit from one of our former preschoolers, now getting ready to enter 1st grade! ❤️📚
Even during our teacher in-service and organizing day, we always make time for the children and families who continue to stay connected with us. It means so much when past families stop by to say hello and remind us that the relationships built here go far beyond the preschool years.
It’s hard to believe how quickly they grow — we’re so proud watching our little learners continue to thrive! 🌟

Our Pre-Kinder class did an absolutely fabulous job with their thank you song on June 12! 🎓❤️
We are so proud of all the hard work they put into learning the words and practicing together. Watching them sing with confidence and excitement was such a special moment and a wonderful way to celebrate all they’ve accomplished this year.
We couldn’t be prouder of this amazing group — kindergarten is lucky to have you all! 🌟📚
