SMITH ANNOUNCES
CAMPAIGN FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE
(Pikeville, TN) - Richard Smith of Pikeville announced he will be
running for State Representative in the 31st District, which covers
Bledsoe, Rhea, Sequatchie and Van Buren counties.
"I am proud to announce that I am running for the Tennessee House of
Representatives for District 31. I am looking forward to meeting the
people and understanding more of how I could be of service to you in
this position and how we can work together to help our communities of
our district. This district includes Bledsoe, Rhea, Sequatchie and Van
Buren counties. I am asking for your vote and support on August 1,2024
in the Republican primary".
Smith owns several businesses in Sequatchie and Bledsoe County. He is a lifelong resident who has been married for 29 years to Aimee Smith and has 2 children Mia & Noah Smith.
Smith has experienced first hand how the economics of state government has affected these Tennessee towns. Unless there is a dramatic change in course, this will hurt everyone in our community: senior citizens, children's education, businesses, jobs and our property taxes, TDEC over reach, State of TN Veterans Care, Strength in Agriculture, local decisions back to the counties and cities and less state control.
Smith wants to have a tradition of strong and effective leadership, willing to take a stand and fight for us. He is excited about the opportunity to work with his Republican colleagues
