💙💛Volunteer Recognition | Chris Seals

Warren County Schools was proud to recognize Chris Seals during Thursday evening’s Warren County Board of Education meeting for his outstanding volunteer service to Bobby Ray Memorial Elementary School.

Nominated by Mrs. Monti Hillis and Mrs. Sadie Newby, Chris has generously given countless hours over the past several months to projects across the Bobby Ray campus. From landscaping, painting and assembling equipment to helping transform an unused outdoor space into a beautiful peace garden for students and staff, his work has made a lasting impact on the school.

In their nomination, Hillis and Newby shared that Chris often works quietly behind the scenes, simply seeing something that needs to be done and stepping in to help. They described his generosity as “a beautiful reminder of what true community service looks like.”

We couldn’t agree more! Thank you, Chris, for sharing your time and talents with Bobby Ray and for making a difference for our students and staff! 💙👏

🌟 Celebrating Our 2025-2026 Employees of the Year! 🌟

Warren County Schools is proud to recognize Dr. Lori Riley, Principal at Morrison Elementary School, as our 2025–2026 Certified Employee of the Year, and Mrs. Connie Terry, custodian at Warren County High School, as our 2025–2026 Classified Employee of the Year!

Each year, our district's Employees of the Year are selected from among the outstanding individuals recognized as Certified and Classified Employees of the Month throughout the school year. Dr. Riley and Mrs. Connie were honored Thursday evening during the Warren County Board of Education meeting as this year's recipients.

When Dr. Riley was originally nominated for Employee of the Month, her colleague at Warren County Middle School, Amanda Gibbs described her as a leader whose “calm, steady nature brings comfort to a profession that all too often can be defined as stressful or hectic.” She also shared that Dr. Riley's hard work and dedication positively impacted both students and staff each day, calling her a “pillar of strength” for the WCMS family.

Mrs. Connie's Employee of the Month nomination, submitted by Anthony Lippe, celebrated the extraordinary care she brings to her work at Warren County High School. He described someone who “consistently goes above and beyond in everything she does,” is always willing to help and approaches every responsibility with an exceptional work ethic. Most importantly, he shared that Mrs. Connie has “a true heart for serving others.”

Different roles and different responsibilities, but the same extraordinary commitment to the students, staff and schools of Warren County.

Hello, Warren County!

It is such an exciting time of year, and I want to officially welcome you to the 2026-27 school year!

I realize I am a few days behind the opening of school with this message, but I did that intentionally. I wanted to wait so I could share a few pictures from our first days together. Regardless of how any of us may feel about summer break coming to an end, one thing has been unmistakable: our schools, teachers, and staff went all out to welcome our students back!

I am consistently inspired by the dedication of our people and the effort they put into making the student experience better. From preparing classrooms and hallways to planning lessons and welcoming families, so much work went into creating a great start for our students.

Here in Warren County, we know a few things about growing trees. We know that a strong tree begins by being planted in good soil. Before school began, I challenged our staff to think about how we prepare the soil for our students. Before we can expect them to grow, we have to create an environment where they can take root, be challenged, feel supported, and discover what they are capable of becoming.

Now, I am inviting our entire community to join us.

It takes all of us to help our students grow and prepare for whatever comes next. To our parents, families, and community, I am asking you to engage with us and support our students throughout this school year. Encourage them. Attend a sporting event. Show up for a play or concert. Celebrate them when things are going well and lift them when they are struggling. Calm their fears when they are uncertain. Pray for their safety and for the people who care for and teach them each day.

Personally, I will join you in all of those things.

Our mission is to Engage Every Mind, Grow Every Learner, and Empower Every Future. That work does not belong only to the people inside our schools. It belongs to all of Warren County.

We have planted the seeds. The soil is being prepared. Now, let’s work together to help our students grow.

Show out, Warren County. Let’s make this a fantastic school year!

🏫 A Warm Welcome Back 🎒

Every school year begins with a day dedicated to the people who make Warren County Schools such a special place: our faculty and staff.

On Thursday, teachers, administrators, and support staff all came together for our annual District-Wide Professional Development Day, reconnecting with colleagues, celebrating the start of a new school year, and preparing for the important work ahead. The energy, excitement, and sense of purpose in the room made it clear that the 2026-2027 school year is off to a wonderful start.

A special thank you to Ben Lomand Connect for helping us kick off the year by generously sponsoring breakfast and refreshments as well as door prizes. Their support helped create a welcoming start to the day and is a wonderful example of the community partnerships that make Warren County Schools stronger.

🎉 A Grand Opening with an Even Greater Gift for Warren County Students! 📚

Today, during the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for McMinnville's new Ross Dress for Less store, Bobby Ray Elementary was presented with an incredible $5,000 donation of brand-new books and educational resources through Ross's partnership with First Book.

Principal Ms. Sadie Newby and Assistant Principal Ms. Candy Seals were on hand to accept the generous gift on behalf of Bobby Ray.

First Book is an award-winning nonprofit organization that partners with schools and educators to help ensure more children have access to books, educational resources, and meaningful learning opportunities. Through its partnership with Ross Dress for Less, First Book helps place these valuable resources into schools where they can make a lasting impact.

Bobby Ray will receive a First Book Marketplace gift certificate, empowering the school to select the books, STEM resources, educational materials, and supplies that will have the greatest impact on their students and classrooms.

This gift will allow Bobby Ray to put high-quality books directly into the hands of students, helping build literacy, inspire imagination, and create lifelong readers.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Ross Dress for Less and First Book for investing in the students of Warren County Schools. Community partnerships like these help open doors, inspire young readers, and remind our students that an entire community believes in their success.

🔈 Attention Returning Warren County Schools Families! 📚✏️

The 2026-2027 Returning Student Enrollment portal is NOW OPEN in Skyward Family Access!

While we originally planned to open enrollment on July 20, we're opening it a little early due to scheduled Skyward system maintenance that is expected to temporarily make Skyward and Skyward Family Access unavailable on July 23-24.

✅ We encourage all families to complete Returning Student Enrollment as soon as possible before the maintenance begins.

Parents/guardians should log in to Skyward Family Access to:
✔️ Verify student information
✔️ Complete all required district forms
✔️ Submit enrollment for each returning student

Once the scheduled maintenance is complete, Skyward will return to normal operation. Any Returning Student Enrollment that is not completed before the maintenance period can simply be finished after access has been restored.

🍎🍌 SUMMER FOOD PROGRAM UPDATE: NEW HOURS + MORE INFO 🍇🍎

Please note the following important updates for the remainder of the Summer Food Program:

🕗 New Pick-Up Hours
Beginning this week, meal pick-up hours at both locations will be: 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

📍 Meal Pick-Up Locations
Meal pick-up will continue each Thursday throughout July at both West Elementary School and Warren County Middle School (WCMS).

🚗 Car Tags Now Required
As part of updated program requirements, families must present their Summer Food Program car tag at each weekly meal pick-up.

• A valid car tag must be present to receive meals.
• If you do not have a car tag, please contact School Nutrition before your next scheduled pick-up to receive one.
• For program compliance, only the family assigned to the car tag may pick up meals.
• Pick-ups on behalf of another family will no longer be permitted.

Thank you for your cooperation as we continue providing this important program to children in our community. We appreciate your understanding as we implement these updated program requirements.
