📣 Girls Basketball Tryouts for 2026-2027🏀

For upcoming 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade girls basketball tryouts will be held May 11th & 12th from 3:00–5:00 PM at Hickory Creek Gym.

• This is a closed tryout (no parents permitted).
• Students will stay after school to participate.
• No paperwork is needed at this time unless your child has a medical issue Coach Shea needs to be aware of.
• Please be prompt for pick-up at 5:00 PM each day.
• Girls will be sent home with a letter on Tuesday informing them if they made the team.

We look forward to seeing everyone there!

✨ April CKH Perseverance Awards ✨

This month, we celebrated students who were nominated for showing our Capturing Kids’ Hearts character trait of the month: Perseverance! These students have demonstrated what it means to keep going, work through challenges, and never give up even when things get tough. We are so proud of each of them for setting such a great example for others! 💙💛

Big congratulations to this week’s Breakfast Club winners, Hickory Creek CDC Special Education Department 🍎☕🥐

We had the honor of bringing breakfast to a team that pours their heart into shaping young lives every single day. The patience, care, and dedication it takes to do what you do doesn’t go unnoticed and we’re just glad we could bring a little fuel to your morning!

Today we celebrated our principal in a way that felt very on brand—with cardigans, laughs, and a little school-wide fun! Since everyone knows she loves a good cardigan, we made sure to honor that signature style while also turning the day into a game by hiding her face all over the school for teachers to find. 😂

Thank you for your leadership, dedication, and the countless ways you support our staff, students, and school community every single day. We are so thankful for all you do! ❤️

✨ Don’t miss our Grade-Level Basket Auction! Each grade has put together a themed basket, and you’ll have the chance to bid on your favorites. Every dollar raised goes directly toward helping the PTO support school programs and daily operations.

Happy Administrative Assistant Day to two absolute rockstars, Mrs. Angel and Mrs. Sandee! 💐✨

We honestly don’t know how anything gets done without you two — calendars magically stay organized, chaos somehow turns into calm, and problems disappear before most of us even notice them. Your attention to detail, patience, and constant willingness to help make such a difference every single day.

You’re not just the backbone of the office — you’re also the glue and the engine that keeps everything running smoothly! And the way you handle parents, visitors, and every unexpected situation with grace (and a smile!) is nothing short of amazing. 😄

We’re pretty sure if there were an award for “Most Likely to Save the Day Before 9 AM,” you’d win it every time.
