The KIDS Place focuses on providing developmentally appropriate activities throughout the day for children ages 2 weeks to 12 years of all demographics. The s
taff at the KIDS Place are responsible for providing consistency, structure, and a positive environment to provide all children with the best opportunities to be successful in meeting developmental benchmarks. The goal is to affect positive change within the community, educating parents on positive parenting practices, and ensure that children in our care have their unique needs addressed in an inclusive classroom environment. Tier 1 interventions (~80% of the population) are system wide and utilized teacher and therapists for all children. Tier 2 interventions (~15% of the population) are developed to address needs specific to each child, offered only as-needed, and utilized by teachers and therapists in the classroom setting to remain as inclusive as possible. Tier 3 interventions (~5% of the population) are only utilized in a one-on-one setting where therapists work directly with children in need of additional services. Children are assessed regularly to determine their unique areas and skills in need of additional support. The KIDS Place emphasizes collecting data from the natural environment to accurately assess if age appropriate skills are being met. The assessments are administered regularly to track progress. Findings are supplied to teachers to adjust the lesson plans appropriately as well as to parents to help support children at home. In addition to these two primary sources of assessment, we have access to additional assessments that can be run if a child is showing a greater need. Extended Services
The broad array of assessments utilized by the KIDS Place can lead to the realization that a child may be in need of further behavioral, psychological, and/or social services. If assessments show that a child is in need of these services, the KIDS Place offers access to an Intervention Clinic on site where individualized, one-on-one services are available through IBT. IBT sends individuals to the clinic to work with the children as needed in accordance with the unique services offered through insurance. All IBT therapists who enter the facility are required to pass a thorough background check, maintain an active CPR certification, and complete biannual TB screenings. The services are available to all students who meet the necessary criterion deficits. Conclusion
