Hello everyone...

Hope you've had a great Christmas/New Year's break.

I also hope that you're ready to get started back with art classes in this new year.

This time around I am just going to do a general art class with a big mixture of project ideas.

We will work in pencil, ink, charcoal, pastels, watercolors, colored pencils, acrylics,.. we're even going to paint on rocks.

The class will begin on Thursday, January 17 at 11:00 a.m. and end each day just in time for those taking the band class.

The cost will be the same as last semester... $25 per month for one student, or $35 per month for a family of two or more.

Parents can participate free as always.

Because we are going to include such a variety of media, it would be quite expensive for families to purchase all of their supplies... especially, since a lot of the supplies will only be for one project. So, what I am going to do is charge a one time $10 art supply fee per student which can be paid anytime during the semester. So, if a family has three kids involved, they could space it out, paying for one student per month until it is all covered.

The only thing the students will need to provide is their drawing supplies which many of you have already purchased... drawing pad, drawing pencils, erasers, felt tip markers, and so on.

I will be presenting projects to the whole class and, as usual, students will be allowed to select their own subject matter... some will want to draw animals... some people... some still life... you get the idea.

But I will also allow any of the advanced students who want to focus on one area... like watercolor paints, for example... to render their project in their favorite media.

I would appreciate it if each family would email me with a list of students who are going to participate so that I can make preparations and get the supplies purchased.

Looking forward to seeing everyone back, and also a few new faces as well.

Hey everyone... sorry about not updating this sooner. After visiting with several of the parents, I am NOT going to offer the advanced drawing class this time around. Instead, at the 11:30 time slot (same time as last year's class) we will be offering the Beginning Painting class. We will do the advanced drawing class in the future.

So, here is the new schedule of classes:

10:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.
Beginning Drawing Class

11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Beginning Painting Class

Ckasses will begin on Thursday, September 20.

Hello again... Greg Ray here with some class updates

This week's lesson, #10, is posted on the website. We are working in colored pencils, so be sure to bring them.

We are beginning our last full month in class, so this will be the last time for payment. In May there will be no charges as it we will make up for a couple of missed classes.

I need everyone to bring any completed artwork with them to class as I want to get them mounted and photographed for our gallery. We are going to have a virtual art show with judging and ribbons and everything... awards will be presented at the last art class in May. I want everyone to take part... even the moms!
