Seven years ago (2019) these high school seniors from Pawville XVI stopped by their 5th grade classroom to visit.
Today (2026) collectively they have earned undergraduate degrees from NCSU(2), UNC-Chapel Hill(1), UNC-Charlotte(1), Pfeiffer(1), Elon School of Law(1), and service in the United States Army(1). Joe gets married in June... see you there! Pawville is family! 🐾😊💜

My favorite day of the school year—especially now that I’m retired—was today. Seeing the seniors from Northern Guilford High School return to their elementary school to walk those hallways one more time was incredibly special.
Seven years ago, they were 5th graders finishing Pawville XXIII, full of energy, laughter, and big dreams. Today, they came back as graduating seniors, taller, older, and ready for the next chapter. Watching them return brought back so many sweet memories and was a touching reminder of just how quickly time passes.
Some had moved to other schools along the way, so it made it even more meaningful that a few were able to come back for one more visit. Even though it only lasted a few minutes, it filled my heart in a way only moments like this can.
Best wishes to the Class of 2026, and especially to Pawville XXIII. Once a part of the Pawville family, always a part of my heart. 💜🐾😊

Yes, that was my honeybee tie. (Surprisingly, I never had a purple paw tie.) I tried to wear a tie often, but always during the first two weeks.
