Heartfelt Sewing Studio

Wanted to hop on the trend of posting pics from when I was a kid. She lives in me, I have her energy, I still think that creating with our hands is kind of magic✨, I'm still curious & adventurous. I am so happy that I created Heartfelt, she would have looooved to come and sew there!

Winter sewing session has ended, and I’m beyond grateful for the fun times we had stitching together! Heading to London tomorrow to visit and take a class at , visit the Stitch Festival, and many hours at Liberty London, and then celebrate my 50th birthday! See you all soon for more sewing fun!

Watching my students shine is the highlight of my job. I adore how sewing gives them a chance to unwind, socialize, and recharge, bringing calm and joy. As we wrap up the winter session, I'm grateful to be around these talented, kind, and compassionate kids. They're aware of the world's challenges, but their joy gives me hope for a better future. 💓

Our reverse appliqué projects have been fun, and I'm impressed by these young talents and their amazing embroidery skills. I love hand sewing, it's a way to share stories and unwind, but it does take patience. We chatted about birthdays, and guess what? One of my students shares my birthday! I showed them my reverse appliqué with my birth year, 1976, and they joked, 'Wow, Ms. Blanca, that's a lot of years!' Yup, big five cero this year! 💖🧵🧁

We began 2026 sewing hearts full of love. Our world needs it, LOTS of it, and it needs kindness, compassion, empathy and every stitch matters! From this small workshop, I dream of spreading love and kindness, like embroidery on fabric, so it becomes a part of everything. 💖

And just like that, another year of Heartfelt is in the books ✨
Back in 2014, when I hosted my very first summer camp in my basement, I never could have imagined where Heartfelt would be today. I am so deeply grateful to the parents who trusted me and brought their children to sewing class week after week.
This year we celebrated many things:
🪡 no one sewed their finger (a real win!)
🧵 amazing projects completed
✂️ plenty of ripping seams and trying again
🤍 creativity, friendships, laughter, and learning together
Today is our last day of class, and we’ll be closed until the new year.
Wishing you a cozy holiday season filled with warmth, rest, and meaningful family time. May 2026 be filled with health, adventure, and peace. I can’t wait to see you in the new year!
As for me, I’m off to Nicaragua to spend precious time with my parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends — my heart is full already. 💛

As the 2025 summer camp season wraps up, I'm reflecting on an incredible journey filled with creativity, laughter, and new friendships. I'm thankful for the kids who made it so special and relieved that all fingers were kept safe! 😊 After a tough week 6 where I had to cancel due to illness, it was wonderful to make the most of week 7. Thank you parents and campers! Thank you to my wonderful assistants Lauren, Tracy and Annette, you all rock!🎸
