Hey Madeira friends - as you know we lost our dear Will a few weeks ago. His friends are using a video he made in August to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes research - turing Type One into Type NONE. Watch this video, get cracking and help if you can. Thank you! Thank you to Margaret and Laurent for a great dinner on Friday night and breakfast on Sunday. If anyone finds themselves in Old Town Alexandria, VA you must go to their restaurants - La Bergerie, - the food was so great. DelRayCafe is also really great - check it out!

Madeira Reunion Weekend
Friday, April 25 – 27th

Reunion is just around the corner! Start making your travel plans!
Our committee has worked hard to make this a great time to connect with each other after 35 years!!
Here are details you need to know!
The Madeira Website http://www.madeira.org/alumnae/reunion will connect you to the schedule of on campus activities. There are events all day Friday and Saturday, so check out the website.

Friday, April 25th
Friday, April 25th: 12:00 – 1:30 Luncheon with the Head of School, Pilar Cabeza de Vaca. Feedback is that classmates will try to attend this luncheon and then hang around for the afternoon events on campus.
Friday Evening Dinner at 7:30 at La Bergerie http://www.labergerie.com, 218 North Lee St., Alexandria, VA, 703-683-1007, which is owned and operated by Margaret Ticer Janowsky and husband, Laurent. There is a pre-fixed 3-course menu with options for a price of $50. See the attached menu to get your taste buds watering!!! We are all very excited to gather and support our classmate.
RSVP for Friday Night Dinner by Monday, April 21st!!! This is extremely important for planning a wonderful evening.

Saturday, April 26th
Saturday, April 26th 12:30 – 12-30. Pilar and the Administrative Team will each give a report about their division. It will give insight into each aspect of student and academic life.
Red, White and Bluegrass: Picnic Lunch on the Oval at 12:30 – 2:30
5:30 – 7:30 Dinner by the Bite Reception for all Classes at The Lane. Michelle Howard Combs has also been kind enough to host classmates at her house in Vienna for an evening gathering of classmates. We will need to get an RSVP by Monday, April 21st for Michelle’s.

Hotels:
Hilton in Alexandria Old Town, 1767 King St. Alexandria, VA 22314 703-837-0440 This is where a number of classmates are staying as it is close to La Bergerie and there are trolley rides available, so we don’t have to drive.
If you want to stay out closer to Madeira, there are rooms blocked at Staybridge Suites 6845 Old Dominion Drive, McLean, VA 22101 Reserve your room or call 703-448-5400. The group code is S04 (S zero 4).
For those classmates who want to register for the Friday events only, Madeira will donate half of the registration fee to annual giving, since our class will be eating off campus. Therefore, lunch cost $40 and you are making a gift of $40.
