Thousands of families across southeastern Bangladesh have been devastated by severe flooding. Homes have been destroyed, communities remain underwater, and many families are struggling to access food, clean water, and safe shelter.

OBAT Helpers is responding by delivering emergency relief to families in Chattogram, providing critical supplies to help them through this crisis. But the need continues to grow as floodwaters remain high and more communities require assistance.

The situation is especially heartbreaking in the forgotten Bihari (Urdu-speaking) camps, where overcrowding, poor drainage and undersafe sanitation have left families trapped in rising floodwaters with little access to food, clean water or medical care.

Your support can help deliver lifesaving aid to families who have lost everything.

Growing a greener future, one tree at a time.

On June 29, students, teachers, volunteers, and community members came together through the efforts of OBAT Junior High School and OBAT Think Tank Gilatala to plant trees and promote environmental stewardship.

Students planted forest and fruit trees while committing to care for them as they grow. At the same time, volunteers, teachers, and community leaders planted medicinal, fruit, and flowering trees, reinforcing the importance of protecting our environment for future generations.

Every tree planted is an investment in cleaner air, healthier communities, and a more sustainable Bangladesh.

Together, we are proving that small actions today can create lasting impact tomorrow.

A visit from education leaders is an opportunity to celebrate learning and strengthen our commitment to every student's future.

Recently, Bogura District Primary Education Officer, Md. Rezwan Hossain, visited OBAT School Bogura, where he observed classrooms, engaged with students, and reviewed their academic progress and participation.

He encouraged students to continue pursuing their education with dedication and expressed his appreciation for the school's commitment to providing quality education. He also encouraged the team to continue their work with the same sincerity, discipline, and dedication.

At OBAT Herlpers we remain committed to creating a nurturing learning environment where every child has the opportunity to build a brighter future.

Every stitch creates a new opportunity.

For many women, learning to sew is the first step toward financial independence. Through OBAT Helpers' Sewing Center program, women receive hands-on training in cutting and sewing, access to modern equipment, and a supportive environment where they can develop valuable skills and confidence.

In 2025, 292 women participated in our five Women Empowerment Sewing Centers, preparing for careers in tailoring shops, home-based businesses, local production, and the garment industry.

This program is about more than learning a trade. It is about creating opportunity, restoring dignity, and helping women build a better future for themselves and their families.

Restoring sight, renewing hope.

On June 22, a free eye camp was held at OBAT Junior High School, Khulna with support from Christian Service Society (CSS) and funding from OBAT Helpers.

Following screenings, 35 cataract patients received free surgeries at Abdul Wadud Memorial Hospital. Alhamdulillah, they are recovering well and looking forward to brighter futures.

Thank you to our donors, CSS, Project Officer Mr. Humayun Kabir, and the OBAT Think Tank, Khulna, for making this life-changing initiative possible.

Together, we're bringing light and hope to those who need it most.

A Father’s Love Shapes a Child’s Future

Yesterday, OBAT Junior High School Khalishpur and OBAT Primary School Gilatala celebrated Father’s Day with a heartfelt event honoring the fathers who support, guide, and inspire their children every day.

Fathers shared their experiences and emotions, while children expressed words of love and gratitude they had never spoken before, creating touching moments for everyone present.

A special recognition was also given to fathers whose dedication and sacrifices have helped build brighter futures for their children.

On this Father’s Day, we extend our deepest respect, gratitude, and love to fathers around the world. May Allah bless all fathers with health, happiness, and peace, and grant Jannah Al-Firdaus to those who are no longer with us.

“The best charity is giving water to drink.”
— Prophet Muhammad (SAW) (Musnad Ahmad, Sunan Abu Dawud)

Inspired by this timeless teaching, OBAT Helpers continues to bring clean, safe water to communities in need across Bangladesh.

Recently, a new submersible water pump was installed in front of Baitun Najat Jame Masjid in Khalishpur, Khulna. For years, local residents struggled to access reliable drinking water, especially during the hot summer months. This new water point will help provide clean water to approximately 1,000 families and serve worshippers attending the mosque.

The inauguration brought together community members, mosque leaders, and OBAT Helpers team members, highlighting the power of local collaboration in addressing essential community needs.

Access to clean water transforms lives, improves health, and strengthens communities. This project is another step toward ensuring vulnerable families have access to one of life's most basic necessities.

Today, we proudly recognize the Dallas Muslim Medical Alliance (DMMA), a valued partner in our mission to serve vulnerable communities. As an official nonprofit partner of DMMA, OBAT Helpers is deeply grateful for their support, generosity, and shared commitment to expanding access to healthcare through the OBAT Health Clinic in Rangpur, Bangladesh.

Because of DMMA's generosity and partnership, thousands of patients have received access to essential healthcare services, medications, and ongoing medical care. Together, we are helping vulnerable families access the treatment they need while bringing hope and healing to communities that have long been underserved.

Every patient treated, every illness managed, and every life improved reflects the power of coming together to serve others.

This partnership is more than an organizational collaboration, it is a shared commitment to restoring hope, improving lives, and ensuring that no one is forgotten.

To the leadership, members, and supporters of DMMA: thank you for helping us create lasting impact in the lives of those who need it most.

Together, we continue to make healthcare accessible, one patient at a time.

Empowering Young Leaders for Greater Community Impact

From May 31 to June 3, OBAT Think Tank brought together dedicated volunteers and young leaders from across Bangladesh for an intensive Volunteer Workshop in Rangpur.

Over four days, participants engaged in hands-on training, interactive discussions, teamwork exercises, leadership development, first aid training, career planning, and personal growth sessions. Each activity was designed to strengthen the skills and confidence needed to create meaningful change in local communities.

The workshop also fostered collaboration among volunteers from multiple districts, encouraging the exchange of ideas, experiences, and best practices. Beyond learning new skills, participants built lasting connections and strengthened their commitment to service and leadership.

Together, we are building a stronger, more skilled, and more impactful network of volunteers ready to serve their communities and inspire positive change.
