From exciting summer adventures to enriching experiences throughout the school year, our students enjoy monthly field trips that help bring learning to life!

💚✨ Celebrating an Incredible Milestone! ✨💚

Recently, our First Steps Academy family had the honor of celebrating Ms. Shohreh's 20th Anniversary! For two decades, she has touched the lives of countless children and families with her kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to early childhood education.

Since joining First Steps Academy, Ms. Shohreh has lovingly cared for children from infancy through kindergarten, creating a nurturing environment where little ones feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn and grow each day.

We are also thrilled to celebrate another special milestone—Ms. Shohreh is now the fourth member of our First Steps Academy "20 Club," an extraordinary group of educators who have been with our school since/almost since the very beginning. Their commitment, longevity, and love for our community are a true reflection of what makes First Steps Academy such a special place for generations of families.

What a SWEET surprise! 💚🍦

A huge thank you to our wonderful neighbors at Alliant for treating our students and staff to a very special visit from an ice cream truck!

Our little learners were all smiles as they enjoyed a delicious frozen treat, and it made the day even more special that members of the Alliant team joined us for the fun! We are incredibly grateful for community partners like Alliant who take the time to invest in the children, families, and educators in our community. Your kindness truly made our day!

First Steps Academy is proud to be a nonprofit preschool serving infants through Kindergarten year-round in Tysons, Virginia, since 2004. We are fortunate to be surrounded by businesses that believe in giving back and helping create joyful moments for our students.

For Community Helpers Week, we welcomed local police officers to our school to talk with the children about their jobs, the important role they play, and how they help keep our community safe. They also encouraged the children to think about ways they can be helpers in their own community.

The students enjoyed meeting Tiller, the police dog, exploring a real police car and motorcycle, and even getting the chance to speak over the police radio. It was an exciting, hands-on experience that gave the children a better understanding of the important work our local police officers do.

💦☀️ Summer fun is in full swing at First Steps Academy! ☀️💦

Our students are making a SPLASH during our weekly Water Days, and they are loving every minute of the F-U-N! From giggles in the sprinklers to exciting water activities with friends, Wednesdays have quickly become a favorite part of summer.

And what's a summer celebration without a sweet treat? Water Days are also Ice Cream Days, making these warm summer afternoons even sweeter!

At First Steps Academy, we believe summer is the perfect time for children to explore, laugh, play, and make lifelong memories in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. At the end of June, we gathered to celebrate a truly remarkable person—our beloved Ms. Christina—as she began an exciting new chapter after 12 incredible years of love, leadership, and unwavering dedication to First Steps Academy.

Throughout her time here, Ms. Christina helped create so much more than a school. She built a community where children are loved, teachers are supported, and families feel welcomed from the moment they walk through our doors. Her kindness, compassion, and genuine care have touched countless lives, leaving a legacy that will continue to be felt for many years to come.

While it was difficult to say goodbye, our celebration was filled with gratitude for the memories, friendships, laughter, and love she shared so generously. We are excited for all that lies ahead and know that wherever life takes her, she will continue to make a difference in the lives of others!

To honor the lasting impact she has made on our school, we are proud to introduce the Christina Character Award—an annual staff award that will be presented at the end of each school year to a teacher who exemplifies the strong character, kindness, integrity, and compassion that Ms. Christina modeled every single day.

Peace, Love & Happiness!

What a magical evening it was as we recently celebrated our annual Spring Pageant! Filled with music, laughter, sparkle, and joy, our students brought this year's theme to life in the sweetest way.

From our 2-year-olds through our Kindergarten graduates, every class proudly took the stage to perform for their families and friends. With beloved songs like "Here Comes the Sun," "Let's Go Fly a Kite," and "We All Live in a Yellow Submarine," our students sang with confidence, enthusiasm, and hearts full of happiness.

These special moments don't happen overnight. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible teachers and our wonderful music teacher, Ms. Olivia, for the many months of planning, practicing, encouraging, and inspiring our students. Your dedication helped each child shine brightly on stage.

Watching our little performers light up the room with their smiles, confidence, and joy was a beautiful reminder of what First Steps Academy is all about—creating meaningful memories, nurturing young hearts, and celebrating every child's unique gifts.
