๐ฑ Why do we practice Practical Life?
In Montessori, everyday activities are so much more than โjust practical.โ Pouring, transferring, buttoning, scooping, sweeping, and using different tools help children develop coordination, concentration, independence, and confidence.
These activities strengthen the small muscles in the hands and prepare children for more complex skills, like holding a pencil, developing a strong pencil grip, writing, cutting, and caring for themselves and their environment. โ๏ธ
Most importantly, Practical Life gives children the opportunity to say: โI can do it myself!โ ๐
Because in Montessori, we donโt just teach children how to do something we give them the hands-on experiences that prepare them for life.
