Today, our 8th grade AVID students had the inspiring opportunity to meet our little ❤️ warrior, Landry Lew. They were thrilled to meet her and witness firsthand one of the many lives that ALH, Amazing Little Hearts, touches with their snack bags. Landry and her mom stopped by to say hello and collect the 100 snack bags that will be donated to the children’s hospital, filled with snacks and created with love. Here’s to another amazing year with our AVID ALLSTARS as they embark on their high school journey. Off to high school they go…🫶

Friendly Reminder 📝

We are still in need of individually wrapped snacks, water, etc to fill the snack bags that are going to the children’s hospitals. Our plan is to get them packaged this Friday. Anything and any amount is greatly appreciated. 🫶🏽.

See below for details 👇🏽

Our 8th grade AVID Allstars will be finishing their year strong with a community service learning project to help the non-profit organization, ALH, Amazing Little Hearts. They help support families that have children with heart defects in many ways, but one way is to provide snack bags to the families while they sit by the bedside of their children in the hospital rooms.

In the past, we have been able to donate 100s of positively decorated bags filled with non-perishable snack items to be delivered to the children's hospitals.

Our inspiration is Landry Lew. Landry is a heart warrior and has been in and out of hospitals her entire life. Something as simply as a cold to us, could easily cause a child like Landry to have a hospital stay for a period of time. The snack bags allow parents to enjoy a positive message and be able to snack while helping care for their child.

We will be packaging the bags with snacks on Friday, May 9th. Any non-perishable snack items are GREATLY appreciated!
Examples include: bottled water, packaged cookies, granola bars, fruit snacks, chips, and more. Please DO NOT include fresh fruit or anything nut related, due to allergies.

We are looking forward to finishing our year strong by helping and blessing others. Feel free to drop off at the front office and say it's for Mrs. Griffen/AVID.

Meet Landry Lewellen, our inspiration.
