🎃📚 The Wilmeth Storybook Pumpkin Patch is coming! 📚🎃

Longhorn families, it’s time to start brainstorming! Students are invited to decorate a small fresh or artificial pumpkin as a favorite storybook character. Get creative with paint, fabric, paper, craft supplies, and more—just remember, no carving!

Pumpkins are due Friday, October 23. Students will vote for their favorites October 27–28, and winners will be announced at Longhorn Live! Pumpkins will head home on October 30.

We’re sharing the details early so families have plenty of time to plan, gather supplies, and get creative. We can’t wait to see our library filled with storybook characters! 🍂📖🎨

Due to the weather, Wilmeth’s 10th Bike Rodeo & Safety Awareness event scheduled for today has been postponed. But don’t worry, Longhorns—the fun is just moving to next week! 💙🤠

Students who complete the Bike Rodeo station card will receive a free snow cone and bike token! 🚲🍧

Our first Maker Monday was a huge success! We loved seeing our Longhorns spend their recess building, creating, experimenting, and problem-solving in the STEAM Lab. Thanks to our wonderful parent volunteers for helping make it possible! 💙

It was such a hit that we’re doubling the fun in October! 🎉 Our next Maker Mondays will be:
- Monday, October 5
- Monday, October 19

🙋‍♀️ We need parent volunteers! Volunteers help students at activity stations, encourage our young makers, and help keep materials organized. No STEAM experience is needed—just a willingness to jump in and have some fun!

Our September Longhorn Live was a blast!! Congratulations to our Character Award winners for Cooperation, and our first Longhorn Legends of the year! We also danced "La Raspa" in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and got to enjoy a "Silly String Showdown" between our top Lucky's Loop earners and their teachers!
