Tonight, we are praying for the week ahead.

For peaceful mornings when getting out the door feels hard.

For teachers to have patience, wisdom, energy, and eyes to notice the child who needs a little extra care.

For children to feel safe enough to explore, brave enough to try, and secure enough to ask for help.

For friendships that are growing.

For families carrying things no one else can see.

And most of all, that our children would begin to understand this simple truth:

God is with me wherever I go.

We are grateful to walk alongside your family this year.

Some of the most meaningful ministry moments at Sprouts don't look dramatic.

They look like a teacher kneeling beside a child who is having a hard morning.

A simple prayer before snack.

A Bible story told to circle of wiggly little bodies.

A reminder to use kind hands.

A child hearing, maybe for the hundredth time, "God made you. God loves you. You belong here."

We believe faith is formed in these small, repeated moments. . . when biblical truth is paired with safety, consistency, love, and relationship.

Our prayer is that long after children leave our classrooms, they remember what it felt like to be known, cared for, and pointed toward Jesus.

Yesterday's firefighter visit was exciting. . . but the learning underneath it is even better.

When preschoolers learn about community helpers, they are beginning to understand a much bigger idea: I am part of a community.

They learn that people have different jobs. They build vocabulary. They connect pretend play to real life. They begin noticing how people depend on one another. And they learn that there are safe grown-ups in their community who help.

That is why a fire truck visit can show up later in the block center, the art table, dramatic play, conversations with friends, and a hundred questions at home.

Preschool learning rarely stays in one little box. One meaningful experience can travel through an entire week of play.

And that is exactly what we love to see.

There is something pretty magical about seeing a fire truck through preschool eyes.
Today our Sprouts students get to meet some of the helpers who serve our community every day.
Our firefighter visit is more than a fun interruption to the school day. Experiences like this help young children connect the people and places they see in their community with real-life learning. They get to ask questions, notice new things, practice listening in a group, and begin understanding that there are grown-ups whose job is to help keep people safe.
We are so thankful for the firefighters who are taking time to visit Sprouts this morning and make learning come to life for our little ones.

One of the sweetest truths we can plant in a child's heart is also one of the simplest:

God is with me.

At home.
At preschool.
On the playground.
When I feel brave.
When I feel nervous.
When Mom or Dad isn't in the room.
When something is new.

Children are learning how big their world is. . . and we get to remind them that there is nowhere they can go where God's love and presence cannot reach them.

What a beautiful truth for little hearts. . . and grown-up hearts too.

Kindness in preschool doesn't usually look like a grand gesture.

It looks like:

"Here, you can have this one."
Helping pick up spilled blocks.
Making room beside you.
Getting a teacher when a friend is sad.
Learning to say, "Can I play?"
Trying "I'm sorry" and then practicing how to make it right.
Waiting for a turn when waiting feels very hard.

These are not little lessons.

Children are learning what it means to live in community with other people. . . people who have different ideas, feelings, wants, and needs.

We don't expect preschoolers to get it right every time.

We coach.
We model.
We practice.
We try again.

Grace gives us room to grow, and kindness is one of the beautiful things growing here.

The same book. The same song. The same puzzle. The same pretend game. Again. And again. And again. For adults, repetitio...

The same book.
The same song.
The same puzzle.
The same pretend game.
Again. And again. And again.

For adults, repetition can feel . . . repetitive.

For young children, repetition is how the brain gets stronger.

Each time a child repeats an experience, they may be:
strengthening a neural pathway
refining a physical skill
practicing language
predicting what comes next
building confidence
noticing something they missed before

That favorite book isn't "too easy" just because they know every page.

Knowing what comes next is part of the joy. . . and part of the learning.

So when your preschooler asks for the same thing one more time, remember:

Their brain may be saying, "I'm getting really good at this."

Two mornings.
Lots of donuts,
Even more sweet memories. 🍩🤍

Today our Tuesday/Thursday and 3-day classes had their turn to welcome dads, grandpas, uncles, and special grown-ups for Donuts with Dads.

Thank you for showing our children that the things that matter to them matter to you too.

Walking into their classroom.
Learning a friend’s name.
Admiring their artwork.
Sitting in a tiny chair.
Listening to a story that may take longer than expected.😊

To a preschooler, those moments say:

“My world matters to you.“

And that is worth celebrating.

Thank you to everyone who helped make our first family event of the school year so special!

Today was extra sweet at Sprouts. 🍩🤍

Our Monday/Wednesday and 4-day students welcomed dads, grandpas, uncles, and special grown-ups into their preschool world for Donuts with Dads.

There is something special about watching a child show someone they love where they sit, what they make, who their teacher is, and the little things that have already become important in their school day.

Thank you to every grown-up who rearranged the morning, walked through our doors, shared a donut, listened to a Preschool story, and made a child feel incredibly important today.

Those ordinary moments become a really sweet memories.

And tomorrow, we get to do it again!

Children may be little, but they notice when the important grown-ups in their lives are connected.

They notice when their teacher knows Mom's name.
They notice when Dad walks into their classroom.
They notice when home and school use the same encouraging language.
They notice when the adults around them are cheering for the same little person.

Family involvement doesn't have to mean volunteering for everything or attending every event.

It can look like reading the classroom message.
Asking your child about a friend.
Practicing a new skill at home.
Sharing helpful information with a teacher.
Showing up when you can.

The goal isn't perfect participation.

It's partnership.

And when children know home and school are on the same team, that sense of security give them even more room to grow.
