My apologies: I misspoke when I made the announcements about the Mini-Concert next Tuesday: it is at 7pm, arrival time for the students is 6:30.

ATTENTION: There have been some changes to the plans for the Homecoming game. The game will be held at Ron Poe Stadium instead of MCA. This means that Band members will need to take their uniforms home Thursday or Friday. If you did not receive shoes yet, I will have them for you at the game; they are being delivered Friday. We are still getting shako’s (marching band hat) fitted and assigned for every band member, the hat boxes will need to be taken home with the uniforms.
Band members will need to arrive at the stadium at 6:15 in their bibbers (overalls/pants) with their band tshirt underneath. If you do not have a band tshirt underneath, you will be wearing the jacket all night long, no exceptions; we need to look uniform at all times.
I will be bringing gloves, plumes, and the gauntlets to the stadium.
Parents: when the uniform is brought home, please have your child put on the pants to check the length; please, please, PLEASE make sure they have buttoned up the bottoms to the proper length before sending them to the game. If you run into any issues with this, please email me and I can walk you through it.
I am very excited to see the Band in uniform as well as seeing a halftime performance!
Last thing: please bring a jacket/umbrella/blanket in case we get caught in the rain at the game.

We are still having a short run-through rehearsal following the pep rally at 1pm. This is MANDATORY.

Good afternoon Mustangs, I hope you’ve enjoyed what feels like an extended weekend with no Friday night game last week😀
This week we will be performing on the field for the halftime portion of the Homecoming game! Although the marching portion will be limited, we still need to go outside every day during class to get in formation and play the music from a stand-still position. Please have tennis shoes, comfortable shorts and shirt, as well as something to keep you hydrated. Also, we will not have music stands on the field, so please be sure your flip folders/lyres are organized ready to go for tomorrow!
We will be wearing uniforms; since we are hosting this game on our campus, students can leave uniforms at the band hall and change into them when we meet at the school at 6pm. This arrival time will give us plenty of time to get dressed, line up to march into the campus “stadium”, so please make sure you are on time.
Last thing: since we are split between two classes during the week (US/MS), we need to have rehearsal time with everyone together. Friday after the pep rally we will meet and run through the halftime performance. This be very important to our preparation for the halftime show and will not take us very long; please make accommodations to be there!

Sorry for the late post, I’ll be short: this week’s game will be at Ron Poe Stadium, 7pm, band members arriving at 6:15 pm. I will be at the school at 5:45 to load drums and music stands. Dinner will be provided.
For post-game, any help you can provide with taking equipment back to the band hall, it is always much appreciated!

Another great job tonight in the stands, Mustang Band! Even with the game having a huge lightning delay, we stayed locked in and ready to go from start to finish (Ella Downey starting things off with another amazing performance of the National Anthem) and I couldn’t be prouder! It’s so exciting to see the musical growth and high performance standards in this program…keep it up Stangs, just a few more Friday nights together this season!

Another huge thank you to our band parents for supplying the water/gatorade and all the help getting equipment moved around.

MCA Band family,

Tomorrow we will be hosting another football game at Ron Poe Stadium. If you have an instrument that needs to be transported to the stadium, we will be loading at the band hall at 5:45…otherwise, We will be meeting at 6:15 to warm up and tune, please bring a water container, instrument, band shirt, and flip folder. Dinner will be provided, please let me know if you would like to opt out of Whataburger, I will be ordering tomorrow morning about 10. Also for middle school parents, please let me know if your child will be attending the game.

Middle School Band parents- 7/8 grade: please notify me if your child will be joining us in the stands Friday night, either here, the Band app or by email😀 we will be providing dinner (pizza) and need to get an approximate number for the order. If they are joining us, we will meet at the band hall at 5:30 if you need to pick up any equipment/instruments, if not, please be at the stadium (Ron Poe) by 6.
Thank you all so much for the help in the stands last week, any help getting things back to the school is always appreciated! And a special thanks to the Warshowsky family and the Downey family for their help with drinks for the game😀

Great job tonight, Mustang Band! Thank you for supporting your team and playing at such a high level, with tons of energy and heart! Thank you David McAnally for playing drums with us, thank you band parents for the help before, during, and especially after the game! Congrats to Ella for her amazing performance of the National Anthem, you made us all so proud! Can’t wait to get to work next week and get more music out there! Have a great weekend😀

Reminder for US Band: we will be taking part in the “hype” video tomorrow morning at the drop-off lines. We will start the event at 7:15, so please make time to get your instrument together and make it to the upper school in time.
For the football game: we will meet at the stadium at 6pm, dinner will be provided at halftime. Be sure to bring music, instrument, and band shirt. All Middle School band members 7/8 grade are welcome to join us in the stands!
