The Texas Peanut Producers Board is the state's oldest agricultural commodity board.

Thanks to partial funding by the Texas Department of Agriculture, we participated in Food & Hospitality Asia in Singapore with the on exhibit space and meeting rooms.
Representing Texas peanuts were (TPPB), (Birdsong Peanuts) and (R Smith Nut Co), all focused on exploring the South Asian market and generating leads for future sales.
Shelly connected with buyers at the exhibit while Joe and Nick worked the show floor-and everyone agrees the trip was a great success with strong leads and exciting potential in that region.

Meet Michael Newhouse, serving on the Texas Peanut Producers Board since 2018. Heās the newly elected Secretary-Treasurer. Michael and his wife, Anndria, farm with their two sons in the Clarendon area.

Larry Don Womack was recently re-elected to the board for another 6 year term representing region 3. He and his wife, Lori, farm in the DeLeon area. LD is a former chairman of TPPB, is active on the executive committee of the American Peanut Council and serves on several other national agricultural boards.

JR Cudd was recently named Chairman of the Texas Peanut Producers Board. Heās the husband of Candy and a long time Terry County farmer. Because of his extensive knowledge about all things peanuts, and especially organic peanuts, the board has fondly nicknamed him āThe Peanut Godfatherā. š

Please help us welcome Ross Short to the board. He was elected to fill the At Large position at TPPBās most recent biennial election and was sworn in to the board during the March 4th board meeting. Ross and his wife, Christi, farm peanuts, corn, wheat, cotton and cattle in Haskell County.
An interesting note is that Ross' dad, Larry Short, served on the board years ago!

Murray Peanut is a high Oleic, medium seeded, high performance variety delivering big yield gains and dependable maturity. It has strong RKN resistance and excellent roasting flavor and is specifically suited for farmers in Texas and the Southwest. It is named in honor of long-time South Texas peanut farmer, James Murray Phillips. A limited amount of registered seed will be available in 2026.
